29smt?
Aye the 29 smt, im grinding it out now
good players will be able to make use of its very capable radar/rwr/missiles (even if you only get 6)
but the FM is as bad as you probably think, a fatter 12.7 mig29
It feels not too shabby in the Test drive with 28 minutes of fuel.
Though test drives never the same as the RB or sim.
Im used to the 4 R-darters on the Grip anyways so im sure 6 is a welcome change.
I seen folks like defyn absolutely rag on the FM of the SMT so im a tad worried but yeah ill see how I get on, having a lot of fun with just the 29 so can see me enjoying the SMT
Cheers for the insight :D
Su27 has a considerable better FM then the su33.
And how can you say its meh when currently the su27 has a similar sustained turn rate to the f16a block15 with the ability to pull cobras while spamming r73? The instantaneous turn energy retention isn’t as good but its not bad at all.
That energy doesnt sound right at all.
They usually fall out the sky when i face them.

Usually, people don’t control their turn rate and just pull max elevator, not that it should be avoided in the flankers since it can bleed speed and tighten turns fast to spam r73
Wdym? Just pick a flanker and make a 800kph sustained turn in game
Yeah i can see that these US teams are dogwater man, i cant even get into the fray RN with the F18A cause the teams gone before I get there, just headbutting missiles on teh way in.
Then get shot down by the 13 other people in the enemy team…
Its no where near as good as an F16 man need to provide a source for that claim…
I haven’t faced any real issue fighting the F/A-18. I’m convinced that everyone complaining about it are only complaining cause it’s American.
Actually, I need to correct myself. I just re-tested both sustained turn rates
IT’S BETTER lol
The su-27 will do a sustained turn rate of 22.4deg/s at 800kph
F-16 block15 will do 21.8 deg/s at the same speed. Higher than that, and it’s hard to wake up the pilot without ace crew (for both)
At non optimal speeds, for example 500kph, the flanker can still almost match the same sustained turn rate as the block15. The block15 does 20 and the flanker 19.5.
At max instructor pull (that most people end up doing the su-27 will sit at 410kph with 17.8deg/s sustained turn
F-16 block15 will sit at 370kph with 17.4 deg/s, here id say the f-16 handles better because of the tighter turn radius.
Where the F-16 block15 still wins is on unsustained turns, it can retain energy better, and that can make a big difference.
I wonder how the hell do you take sustained turn measurements from those stats
So what you’re saying is that the F-16 is strictly superior at turning assuming you actually level your crews?
Either way I don’t trust your “tests” at all.
I am saying my experience does not line up with what you describe.
No, that is for both jets ofcourse. The only way to bypass that is with full controls and trim control abuse
I’m describing sustained turn rates, which translates to a big part of energy retention characteristics.
I have yet to be convinced that what you say is accurate because I do not actually see you doing anything other than typing on this forum. Anybody can put numbers onto a forum. My experience flying the jets described does not line up with your assessment.
Verify it yourself with WTRTI my dude. Provided you can control a proper sustained turn.
My point is that the su-27 FM is not “meh” It was buffed and now even surpasses the block15 is sustained turns, the su-27sm is about the same, the j11b FM is even better than the 13.0 su-27.
They are decent now, until they meet a rafale or Eurofighter.
