F-16 ADF's at 13.3?

someone posted datamine yesterday, and ADF gets 6x AMRAAMs.
adfs

According to this datamine it can carry an AIM-120 in slots 1,2,3,7,8,9 (6):

F-16A-15ADF [ITA]:

  • radar: AN/APG-66(V)1 → AN/APG-66(V)3
  • countermeasures: 60x Split regular countermeasures → 30x Split regular countermeasures + 15x Split large countermeasures
  • new loadout(s): 6x AIM-120A
  • loadout changes: 2x AIM-7M + 2x AIM-9L (stock) → 2x AIM-120A + 2x AIM-9L (stock)
  • custom loadout changes:
    • slots 1, 2, 8, 9 changed: added 1x AIM-120A option
    • slots 3, 7 changed:
      • added 1x AIM-120A (stock) option
      • option changed: 1x AIM-7M (stock) → 1x AIM-7M:
        • added modification requirement: AIM-7M
        • no longer available stock

I wouldn’t even take the AIM-9Ms even if it had them. They’d just slow you down. I might even leave two AIM-120s behind for the same reason.

No HMS, trash IR missile compared to R-73. R-77 is better at ranges where it actually matters. Equal avionics.

MiG-29SMT, Su-33, Su-34 are all very capable of fighting F-16 ADF with AIM-120s. Su-27 too, even though it has worse avionics.

The most powerful plane at 13.3 will probably be the Su-34.

Flight models aren’t everything.

Except they’re missing IRCCM and JHMCS/HMD.

And MAWS, and 120 countermeasures instead of just 60, and CAS options.

I only named differences with both the F-16AM and OCU. Pretty sure the OCU just has 45 CM w/o MAWS

which F-16 has MAWS??

Belgian F-16AM- arguably the best F-16.

Well yes, OCU is also trash so

I’m mainly comparing it to F-16AM and F-16C.

well if the OCU can sit at 13.7, with the differences being the P3, IR Only HMS and less countermeasures, I dont see why the ADFs should sit at 13.3

The OCU has 9Ms. That’ll always cause an increase in BR.

Because MiG-29SMT, and Su-34 vs F-15As, F-18As and F-14Bs is not a fair fight.

Having Fox 3s is not something you can just disregard because of flight models.

Also why should F-16 ADF with AIM-120s be at the same BR as F-16C Block 50, it makes no sense.

Also don’t talk abt my baby like that, I love the OCU

The only reason I see for that to happen is having Fox 3s, HMS and Python 3s, which actually turn unlike AIM-9s. I just can’t forgive its CM count.

Python 3s are fun, especially 1-2km in a headon when people expect a gunfight (in RB atleast)

Pythons can be fun because of the proxy fuse, but if the enemy is paying any attention at all, they aren’t hitting.

I see it as a sidegrade.
Do you want the flight model at the cost of HMD , irccm and a few more countermeasures or do you want to play the heavier 16C with the convenience

Everything about F-16C Block 50 is better except wing loading.

ADF is nearly a tonne lighter allowing for a much better instantaneous turn and over a full G harder turns allowing you to get into notches faster, alongside bleeding less energy, and although the engine’s static thrust is weaker, it’s peak TWR is superior, which leads to a slightly better top speed and acceleration at altitude, although at sea level it is slightly weaker.
Flight model and extra acceleration at altitude will help it in BVR, of which lacking HMD or IRCCM isn’t really an issue, and in today’s BVR meta this is definitely worth something.

Notching and off bore counter launching with HMS within like 5-20 kilometers is literally the meta gameplay loop, what are you talking about. HMS is absolutely essential to launch a missile and return to the notch angle as fast as possible. Tall ACM box is workable, but HMS is much better.

AIM-9Ms are only good because of their seeker and smokeless motor, which makes them good for intercepting. Take it away and you have an absolutely trash missile for dogfights compared to R-73, Magic 2 or Python 3, that’s precisely what AIM-9L is. Within 1km AIM-9s are barely any better than just using guns.
