whats the diff between the 88g and 88j?
Well yeah. It’s the same type of training version as in the F-15 picture, you just can’t see the front fins on the F-15 image

MMW is on both iirc. 88J I think will have a different warhead and modified targeting software

Those are just INERT AIM-120s, indicated by the blue ribbon

these are inert 120s
those are a different inert missile
I feel like F=18E/F is better just because of AGM-88G being able to take out long range SAM and ability of it to carry most AGM-154, but it is indeed a top 3
I’ve also seen them with fins removed completely. If it was AIM-260, don’t you think almost every single defense news source would’ve gone crazy?

they are very visually distinct from the inert 120s carried on on the other stations
so they are clearly a different missile and the only likely option is 260
i think the f18e will still be the best for s300 sites for that exact reason, but for everything else the ex is gonna dominate, short range aa and all types of ground targets
