50% is bold, but a 10-20% increase with a more modern dual pulse (rumored) is a more reasonable guess
It’s smaller though, as it’s designed for IWBs instead of external carry
so is AFLRW (the 1000 nmi air to air missile they recently started development for)
Fact
Sure, but is it smaller like the AIM-120C with clipped wings or the missile body is smaller and shorter diameter? I know you don’t know, I’m just not convinced it can be a significant reduction in size and weight, while increasing the range.
Pretty sure it’s further clipped and the missile body itself is the same size. Maybe it’ll look similar to the AIM-260
The AAM-3/4 are not claimed to be integrated on the JSI. The JMoD has voiced interest on making them compatable, however there is no information to say they are as of yet.
Also, the JSI will likely only have 8x missiles, as it does not have the FBW upgrade needed for AMBERs / additional rails, and theres no current information on plans to buy quad racks for it.
Anyways, the JSI really should not come to game IMO. Its too different from the other advanced eagles, and the specifications on it are still too up in the air for it to be implemented in any sort of reliable way.
Agreed with the 2nd half, but i don’t think it differing from the advance eagles is a bad thing (other than that we don’t really have anything to base the JSI out of). At the very least, an AESA version of the F-15J could serve as a 14.3/7 arb.
There are no quad racks for AAM on F-15
FBW shouldnt be needed for AMBER or MRML
it is just needed to mount anything on stations 1 and 9
It being different from other advanced eagles like the EX is bad imo since like, with the IA, we know basically what its going to be, and things can just be copied from the EX. However you cant just copy stuff from an EX and call it a JSI, as thats not what its going to be. And not having a near bases to base it on, makes implementing it in a “correct” way a lot harder.
Do we know anything about potential a2g capability on the JSI? And it retains PW-220 right
Yeah it keeps its current engines.
About all we know for its A2G is its getting JASSM-ERs, and maybe the ability to carry ASMs (the JMoD has plans to install ASMs on future F-15 Modernizations, however its unclear if they were refering to F-15J Modernized (J(M)), or the F-15JSI.
why does nobody know the difference between AMBER and MRML?
People still calling MRML quad rack too
It’s 15 years old, 10 years of service.
Yeah, I figured it wasn’t that old.
PL-15 with clipped wings is still called PL-15, the PL-15 has gone trough different updates in it’s now 10 year long service life similar to the C-5, C-7 but what has changed we don’t know and the block names we don’t know as well.
PL-16 is a new missile with similar dimensions to the PL-15 and that’s it when it comes to similarities.
It’s main feature is a variable thrust rocket engine
10 years of service is very old for a Chinese weapon system, built with 2000s technologies.
It’s replacement has been coming for a long time, and most PLA watchers believe PL-16 entered service last year.
All I’m saying is I don’t buy the claim that it’s significantly smaller and has a 50% range increase. I’m not denying that China has been rapidly developing new weapons.
so f22 take less then 96s from Mach 0.8 to Mach 2 that’s good to know at 30000ft or 9.14km f15e is about as fast or just ill bit slower than f22a graph from 0.80 Mach to Mach 1.20 f15e with 50% fuel and 4 aim120c-5 took 25s
but from 0.8 to 1.80 f15e took 63s and the f22 appear to reach Mach 1.8 in 70s /68s ?
but f15e reach mach 2 in just 82s
while f22a is between Mach 1.92 or Mach 1.94 at 80s mark?
so my conclusion is the f22 accelerate faster at lower Mach number but a bit slower at higher Mach numbers? than the in game f15e based on this graph
