F-15c/e hmd

I don’t understand how the HMD functions, I get the basics of it. My main issue with it currently is that when using TWS or the RADAR in general (outside of HMS PD) is that it doesn’t illuminate tracked targets. The only time a tracked target is outlined by the box, or the HMD gives me direction to its location is when I’ve locked in in HMD PD. This is something I’ve noticed with the F-15 models in the US tree, and something I noticed recently with the F-15C GE. I play sim a lot nowadays, and it kinda screws with situational awareness when I have to put my nose onto the target so I can see where it is in the HUD.
In short, I’m just wondering if targets only get illuminated on the HMD when they are locked in HMD PD.

if you spool up your missile, you get a diamond on the target

Yeah JHMCS has been missing it’s radar target box for a while now.
JHMCS missing radar symbology

(DEV) Targo 2/JHMCS 2 hmd missing Display of threats

Currently missing on all F-16’s and F-15’s that use JHMCS. Also missing from a bunch of other HMD’s like DASH on the F-15C Baz M, Targo II on the Kfir C.10 and the Norwegian F-16AM, and the HMD for the J-10C but currently that is a complete copy of Targo II.

they should be but gaijin decided to make JHMCS terrible and ignored many features it should have

it even is missing lots of stuff that Agile Eye had on F15s for testing in the 80s

Hey there, it is totally normal to feel as if the HMD’s are poorly managed or modeled, it’s something that haas been an issue since the update dropped.

Whenever you lock targets in TWS or ANY other modes and try and see the visual feedback on the HMD it will be missing, as I mentioned before, it is a missing feature.

This of course can be circumvented by activating your missile’s seeker, which will activate the diamond to reflect the active missile.

Here are a few examples of what I mean using different HMD’s:

JHMCS – Locked Target, No Target Lock Box

JHMCS – Locked Target | Active Seeker, Engaged Seeker Diamond

DASH III – Locked Target, Target Lock Box

DASH III – Locked Target | Active Seeker, Target Lock Box with Engaged Seeker Diamond

TARGO II – Locked Target, No Target Lock Box

TARGO II – Locked Target | Active Seeker, Engaged Seeker Square

STRIKER II – Locked Target, Target Lock Box

STRIKER II – Locked Target | Active Seeker, Target Lock Box with Engaged Seeker Diamond

I don’t see Gaijin fixing this issue for the most popular NATO HMD, even though they have accepted or even recognized the issue, so yeah, just turn on your seeker if you wanna see the targets unless you’re playing a platform with a decent HMD such as the F-15 Baz Meshupar, Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen, etc.
