starscream aura buff giving the extra kills
I love how this topic has devolved into star scream jokes and posting gameplay because of how they just abandoned it lol.
Also are those in game camos or WTLive for the grey and stripes.
Wt live, gaijin devs could never make cool camos :)
Personally i find soviet teams more frustrating recently like how can people be that oblivious on a su30sm2
Let’s say that both German and soviet teams don’t shine for skill, but I gotta agree with you, it’s easier to be oblivious in a Eurofighter compared to an SM2…
How is it easier with that massive vertical scan zone? Irbis and Bars at least have an excuse of atrociously narrow vertical scan area, but AESA one Eurofighter literally can see everything
Radar on the Euro is great, by all means, but you have to babysit your amraams to make them work, can’t throw them over the shoulder like you do with R-77-1’s, because they are very likely to be wasted.
Also in top down attacks, which happen often in a furball meta, you kinda gotta pitch down and lead the aim-120 since they have low pull.
With the SM2 I find the playstyle to be more enjoyable, you flank, grab a ton of speed and the r77-1 coupled with a great gimbal limit to guide them in is deadly, (you can do this in the Euro too ofc but with less rewarding results at least in my experience).
Voiced by the greatest voice actor of any series of all time:

Gotta be one of my favorite voice actors of all time
i have severe skill issue with spamraams. HOW do you get them to hit? my goddamn phoenixes have a higher hit % than them. With MICA it’s really fire and forget but my amraams feel like sparrows with more range.
I try to guide them in with narrow TWS for as long as possible, usually works especially when enemies are trying to flank on the wrong side; once you wipe the 2 or 3 that try to flank you rain 120A’s on the rest of the furball and on average you can take home 2 or 3 more kills.
Playing above the furball in the F-15 is not really safe tho I guess, you got a ton of countermeasures but you don’t have an FM as good as a Rafale or EFT to defend with.
For now I actually have a slightly better KD in the GE than in the Rafale, but as you can see the difference in WR is kinda dramatic

I didn’t expect this to be real but it’s literally on the wiki lmao
Well, its kind of easy “not to die” in Golden Eagle, you have the best radar, fast speed, 12*AIM120, anyone getting too close is mostly your own fault. Keep AESA guiding is the key, as it could guide multiple missiles out of the search zone. I only run 120C, it’s very good at keeping enemies at distance. If you can surpress enemies before they do, you actually have huge advantage, just as IRL.
you dont
not really
so a bad missile kit
imo you’re essentially just a worse eurofigher at the same br
Is there a version that gets 129 engines that isn’t the EX?
I guess on the C they would be great
i think the F-15SG
Correct.
SG version does have GE-129C engine.
SA version also uses GE-129.
Eu gostaria muito de ver isso no jogo
Some interesting comments by IDS pilot training against SEs with apg70s regarding range
…and we had the entire um Holloman airspace for it. So from north to south we had 120 mi [223 km] of desert essentially that, mountains in the north, mountains in the south to train… And that was very that was breathtaking because when the eagles were fighting against us, they were all the way in the north when they were turning south. We were all the way in the south in the mountains at low level and they turned around swept one time and they had a complete radar picture of what’s going on. And that’s with we are talking uh the year 2000 so APG70 kind of thing and they didn’t even bring their their targeting pots. They left them at home. Um, and if if they had brought them, it it would even be more eyewatering because they can actually if if they get defensive, a coincidence. Then they go to the notch and they can track you with the targeting port through the notch. All kinds of weird things. It was just mind blowing. See what that jet can do, but also what those crews could do. They really had their stuff together.
…So that’s that’s very interesting then. So these guys are sweeping you from 100-120 miles [185 -223km] out. Are you So you’re you’re coming out of mountainous terrain. What is your tactic then to defeat them? How do you uh go against a four ship of F-15s with APG70s, really good ground cluster rejection?
-Well, the bad news is there just isn’t anything. No matter what you do, it just will not work. They because they got their first hits at 120 mi [223 km] and they they come in range at what, 40 miles [74 km] or with being red air with the the weapons they were given maybe 20 miles [37 km]. So they track down for 100 miles [184 km] and just wait to come in range and no matter what you do by the time you get to 20 miles [37 km] they will have full SA on you. There is nothing you can do. And we tried everything imaginable. We were we were flying um radar resolution cell close formation in medium altitude which is a hard thing to do in that airplane and then do uh the exploding water man of thing trying to create lots of blips for them to work. But that jet is so advanced and they have two two guys in the cockpit. This is a lose-lose proposition no matter what you do.
120 N.M for a tornado.
For the charts I have for the apg63.
APG-63s case study report
against a 2-3m^2 target at 2bar wide(120°) search pattern RWS.
From the Tornado’s F3 CTTO
average RCS of the aircraft is 9m^2 within 60° of the nose.
And some graphs

The red curve is the 50% pd for the first reference I gave, 73 NM for a 2m^2 target.
Blue curve is the value from the case study, 77 NM for a 2m^2 target
Black vertical line is the avg frontal tornado’s RCS, 9m^2
and green curve is the detection range for apg63s and apg70s in war thunder, 100km for a 3m^2 target, which is based on a soviet’s F15 report.
Horizontal line is WTs max render distance for radar contacts, 120km. To give a sense of scale
Seems reasonable, the cumulative pd adjusted for a 9m^2 target.

At 120 NM you would’ve detected 10% of incoming targets, and 50% of them by the time you are 106NM apart
