Yeah your report was spot on :)

Doesn’t it have the AN/ALQ-127 / -153?

I think it’s the system in the large aerodynamic fairing on top of the Left hand Tail boom that is only present on the US F-15s

I thought it’s IFF related.

Pretty sure that’s one of the smaller set of blisters underneath the pod. Not the pod itself.

My bet would be the thing that looks like the EFT hotdog;

There is always the possibility this was added to the F.3 RHWR from a library given by the USA when they were looking to equip F-15 with a PD MAW but it didn’t go ahead and the library entry remained.

It’s ECM antennas i suppose.

But 15J has J/APQ-1 there, which is MAWS IIRC

Ahh sweet I was looking for something like this.

But secret and nonexisting TEWS manual doesn’t show that antennas on scheme. WTF?

Yeah that’s super weird, the US F-15s have two of those while the Japanese one only has one and it’s supposed to be a MAWS as well as an electronic warfare suite? I’m not buying it, either the US F-15s have some kind of MAWS there as well or are missing some capability

US F15s currently don’t have MAWS

Even the F15EXs that have been delivered have the mounts for the MAWs but lack the actual MAWs

We’re trying to work out what an AN/ALQ-127 installation would look like and if it was ever mounted on an F-15 as opposed to the CMWS installations.

Aint ALQ/AN 127 like real old

Used on E3s and B-52Gs

1980’s tech yes. Replaced by AN/ALQ-153.

Are you sure they weren’t just plans/provisions for them?

It was in F-15A manual IIRC.

As far as I can tell the plan to install that on the F-15 was scrapped, and either way that is from WAY before the EPAWSS system, not related.

These guys. The Americans have missiles floating tech now. Maybe they found a patent on alien floating technology, and it was actually installed on the Golden Eagle, unlike AMBER

hard to get hyped about future US aircraft considering how bad amraams are modelled.
