F-14AM - The Iranian Tomcat - History, Performance, and Discussion

Google and some books from 1970s to 1990s.

Almost a year and a half later after this comment, I decide to try the Sedjil again. First game, first launch. It again falls out of the plane like a brick. Why hasn’t this been fixed or isn’t even talked about? Am I crazy? Does this just happen to me? I know it can happen sometimes with other missiles, especially like sparrows, but to me it seems like 1/3 of my sedjil at least end up like this. It’s the most buggy missile in the entire game. I’d rather use aim-9B than these, at least they’re predictable.

Nope. It always does that. You aren’t crazy.

Glad to know it’s not me and just Gaijin not caring.
That’s too bad because the missile itself has decent specs, pretty much a fox-1 fakour. For a time it was pretty good but then they broke it I’m not sure when.

Of course that wouldn’t matter if we could simply carry fakours on the wing pylons.
I love my IRIAF regardless.

I dont think lol, but probably iran indigenous iran ir missil and maybe modern r60mk

lol its funny that the master caution is continuously flashing

It happens when ground crew connect power to F-14s at cold start

makes sense

I just joined the chat and I love the F-14s, and unfortunately I couldn’t get the Iranian one because I was sick the week of the last 3 distinction marks. My question is: why is the AIM-54A/C so slow, unlike the Fakour-90? Why didn’t the Iranian company balance this out? Why is the F-14B from the same Brazilian manufacturer as the F-14A IRIAF? Why is the Fakour-90, a missile with almost no specifications, constantly being buffed and buffed, while the Phoenix doesn’t receive MK60 engines, etc., like reduced smoke? I think they should balance this out!

They were not so slow if you take on account their age and the distance they travel.
Also in game are wrong.
54A is rated 4.3 mach (in game is close) and 54C is 5 mach missile (in game is same as A).
F90 …by calculations and claims may be faster or have better acceleration (the second is more probable) than 54C. They can have the same or similar top speed but one get to that speed faster…

Both planes were made by Grumman…a US company.
Iran bought 14s from US , back when they had the Shah as goverment and in fact they were a big ally and in cooperation with US.
Were did you get it was Brazilian…?

Because it’s a game…realistic, but arcady and they buff and nerf what they feel like in many occasions.
F90 has claims as specifications. It’s azzpull territory .
In terms of balance though, they shouldn’t make it better than a 54C (i mean they are rated the same speed, make it have more acceleration and certainly not more agile) …but you see, the get money as a fee from themarket and now it sells 226 Eu! Gj takes 15%…around 30 eu.

Oh, sorry for using “Brazilian,” Google Translate made a mistake, haha. But we need to confirm that the AIM54C should have the MK60 engine, which has more acceleration, less smoke, weighs 25g, and has a speed of over Mach 5. But to be quite honest, the Fakour-90 should have some range nerf. I see people firing them at 50/60km and hitting targets, while Phoenix missiles need 30 to 45km to hit, unless the targets are AFK. And you can’t compete with F14A IRIAF players.

Smokeless model is Mk.47

Hold on a minute, which Phoenix has less smoke and which has more acceleration in real life?

Mk.60 has better rocket motor but, it is not huge difference from Mk.47 if you try to shot in mid/long range because it has shorter burn time.

So how will the gaijin balance the fakour with the phoenix? I think it’s impossible.

The Aim-54C by all of our knowledge should be better in it’s technology in almost every aspect, so it will be balanced by having better G pull, less visible smoketrail, comparable range, and a vastly better seeker/autopilot in every way. It will be a truly modern missile.
