I am not sure about the BOL dispensers. That would be too ahistorical to add on the basis of the technical compatibility. Actually, I got a question for you: are BOL dispensers even compatible with the F-14A IRAIF’s known rails?
I get that it’s frustrating to have very limited countermeasures in 13.3+. However, if it’s true that the Fakour-90 turns out to be SARH, not ARH, then it should go down to a more comfortable BR placement with AIM-9P and limited CMs. Again, I am not saying it should go down or nerf Fakour-90.

Realistically they could add R-73 as the IR missile and not change the BR. There’s very little use for them though as they’d not support radar slaving or anything.

That’s already disproven. That was a assumption based on a single test fire video where the pilot says Fox 1, which in that environment means launch of the first missile, not it’s radar homing type.
The IRIAF is already dead to me to be completely honest. I only use it to complete my 3 games quota so I can still be active on the forums sometimes. It’s that braindead unfortunately. There’s nothing in the realm of reality that could help it. The problem is the players. They’re just too bad at the game.

Ehh, I am not quite sure if I agree with your interpretation of “Fox-1” in that footage. I have never heard the term used in that context. If there are unrelated pilot interviews or other footage where they are audibly using “Fox-1” in the same manner, then your argument may have some merit. Again, I will have to reach my own conclusion regarding the real-life status of the Fakour-90 at some point.
13.3 is in rough shape, yep, but Gaijin is also responsible for balancing and decompression, not just the players. If it’s still gone too badly, I suppose removing Fakour-90 is a last resort to salvage the F-14A IRIAF. Again, that’s an extreme move I would not advocate for.
Hopefully, at the very least, the Fater-2 missile with its supposed all-aspect seeker.
The aircraft’s in a weird spot. If talking about lowering this aircraft’s battlerating then there’s a two steps they could try, one would be changing the Fakour-90 from ARH to SARH (not entirely sure about this topic but I’ve seen quite a few claiming it’s ARH functionality is fake) or Removing the Ahistorical functioning R-27s (not like these are any good on this aircraft to begin with but it’s what I got)
To my understanding, this is still a matter of debate. I am a little skeptical, considering the nature of the available information.
But the R-27 was trialed on the F-14A IRIAF. Even if it did not work in real life, that does not necessarily matter in the game, as they took reported plans and documented integration efforts into account when modeling an aircraft’s armament options, unlike the R-73.
At this point they could remove the Fakour as long as the Aim-54C got buffed to some of it’s levels. They can’t do that unfortunately though because people pay like 100 bucks for it for some reason.
I’m sorry. I think I keep making the IRIAF go up in br. I’m already salivating at the F-14D hordes.

I mean no, it’s really not that good it should have irccm just because it’s 13.3, it’s slow to accelerate with no hmd and a mediocre/bad radar. not to mention not scary whatsoever within ~5 miles due to the fakours being extremely easy to dodge
