F-14AM - The Iranian Tomcat - History, Performance, and Discussion

Sounds interesting

The guy who has those manuals are IIAF/IRIAF stakeholder.

Since it possesses -1(IR) and -1A(IR), its credibility is likely high especially those manuals are ways rare than navy models.

Sadly, I can’t share those manuals because of “special” export control.

I will send FOIA requests for Pentagon but, govs are shutdown mode rn :/

How though? We’ve seen it in action it’s been fired and tracked to a target in BVR.

If that guy told you they don’t exist maybe he’s not that credible…

Otherwise cool stuff about the Iranian F-14s. Hopefully he could send some pictures of 1A!

It may be exists but, not likely ARH missiles.

Footage from Fakour-90s shows no LAU-93 launchers at Station 3/6. This implies either the presence of coolant within the missile body itself, as seen with the AIM-54C ECCM/SEALED, or that it is a simple SARH missile.

To the best of my knowledge, the AIM-54C ECCM/SEALED still required coolant when mounted on the F-14A/F-14B, so I am highly skeptical that Iran could have developed a missile that completely eliminates the need for coolant.

He only shows the title with yellow binder tho :/

Only things what I can say from -1A(IR) is it is already unclassified since 31 Dec 1995.

Also, although it is only a guess from the image, it is highly probable that the “modernized” F-14AM still uses the AN/ALR-45/50 RWR. This is because these RWRs originally have their receivers installed on the right gear door on nose ones, and there have been no changes to them whatsoever.

Ignore the APR-27. It has been changed to AN/ALR-45/50 at later manuals

Iran still hasn’t made a modern, digital rwr? Considering their other hacks, that’s surprising

From their own training simulator.

You can see ALR-45/50 symbols on HSD.

Do we know what the the ALR-45 changes from the ALR-25? Since that display looks near identical. I know that the ALR-45F(V) backports tech from the ALR-67

Also, a Neat APR-39A demonstration clip.

Mode 1 / Mode 2, for the RWR refers to the use of Detailed / Terse audio warnings, for head up updates.

Im pretty sure it just covers more bands as well as more range. Its still a non digital RWR so no alphanumeric radar images. Just signal lines.

Does somebody has has AIM-54 and Fakour-90s seeker photos?

I got this:

It’s really hard to get anything about it though. Especially the C.

Is that Fakour 90? Or some other similar missile? Because if it’s the Fakour 90 then the version we have in game is massively over performing.

AD-40A is just different name of Fakour 90s afaik.

In that case the missile in game needs to have its boost phase removed from the motor. Funnily enough removing the boost propellant in game brings weight down to almost what is listed on a data sheet.

Are you sure AD-04 isn’t an export model with reduced performance or something like that?

Pretty sure export model but, idk it is downgraded or not.

Here is PDF from Iran’s MoD.

this is the fox 1 version with reduced range (probably)
semi active version exists but more like a folk tail.
as for the footage and catalogue, well these guys are full incompetent when advertising. they either dont give info or give too much info ( like who would give the meantime between failure and time to do repairs on a public catalogue of a search radar meant for close range defence?).
hence why not much data available
