Even at 100% dry thrust you can’t flare most stuff from rear aspect. You need to have time to cut the throttle and wait for the engine to cool down for a second

dogfighting is when you’re most likely to have fox2s and even when you cut afterburner you still have engines at over 2000° degrees

I haven’t had issues countering Aim-9Ls. The only issues I’ve faced are against IRCCM missiles, and soviet radar that for some reason is invisible to RWR.
