F-14A IRIAF is balanced at 12.7 BECAUSE of the F-90s and all other aspects of the aircraft being trash for the BR.
You know what EJ Kai trades for AIM-7Fs and AIM-9Ls? Just dogfight performance, that’s it.
Its engines are great, radar is great, RWR is great.
Even AV-8B+ trades less than the F-14A and the AV-8B+ is 0.3 BR higher with superior ARHMs.

They should climb up by decompression with Mirage 2000C.
But I don’t understand why you are ignoring that AIM-7E-2 or Skyflash are inferior in nearly all aspects compared to AIM-7F.
As I remember, Skyflash(normie) are only better than AIM-7F on dead-close range headon thanks to less guidance delay and better initial thrust. maybe 5km-ish?
~10km is where I use Skyflash and AIM-7Fs, partially because the ACM range of F-14 is 9km.
But with todays results showing that F-4FG1 and FGR2 just fly better than F-4J for air RB, it explains why I have such a good time in my FG1 and why I do so well in it.
The extra flight performance aids the lack of slightly longer range SARHMs.
