F90s are not as strong as you make them out to be when the platform is easily worse than an F-16A.
AIM-120s & F-16 > F90s & F-14A.
RWR, radar, TDWR, and in some cases countermeasure count all play significant roles.
F-14A without F90s isn’t even 12.3 equivalent anymore due to F-18A being at that BR.

F-14A is easily better than the SHAR FA2.

Probably, but it’s a more difficult comparison I haven’t thought much on yet.
All I know is I’d prefer to be in Tornado F3 Late than F-14A IRIAF, even if both are probably more equal than one being superior to the other.
F-14A is a long-range BVR bus, while Tornado F3 Late is a longer medium range BVR bus with some boom & zoom capability with 9Ms.
Tornado will also give me detailed radar identities, higher countermeasures, and at minimum an equally good radar [if not better].
But, F-14A is better at dogfighting. ;) For what that’s worth in air RB when F-2A, Su-27, etc are the same BR, and F-15A is a lower BR. Notable F-18s and F-16s are also lower BRs for WVR combat…
So that leaves BVR for F-14A IRIAF and Tornado F3 [with slight boom zoom for Tornado].
And AV-8B+ at least has lower speed maneuvering, but SHAR 2 is just shafted.
Ah, I miss the good old times when F-14A IRIAF finally made a direct nerf of F-14A series when it directly steamrolled the games and stats go brrrr even with ‘bad US pilots + event vehicle’ stereotype combo
