F-14A/B at 11.7/12.0 is too OP

Ah maybe that explains why Maverick only ever had IR missiles

The F-14B would be 12.7BR at best because smokeless motors means nothing in ARB since we have AAM diamond markers.

Either way, it should have a longer range than it currently does, which should create a different play style of either spamming AIM-54 from far away or spamming AMRAAM at about 30-25km.

Maverick & Goose’s/Iceman & Slider’s F-14A had a camera mounted on the AIM-54 pylons ))))))

I would argue it does matter in this case as we do not get diamond markers at long range when it is imperative you are watching for the tell-tale 6 white streaks coming from one other white streak

What are you on about here i genuinely dont know what you’re trying to say razervon

Huh you quite literally need a good RWR to begin the first step of notching a missile if you aren’t able to put yourself at exactly 90° it doesn’t matter how much chaff you drop tye missile will still kill you

We just need a directional warhead change so that multipathing makes you immune to splash damage. Then it will be balanced again.

It’s not a shaped charge, it’s just biased toward a general direction.

IRL the Phoenix was good down to like 15 meters so if anything it should be buffed

Notching a front-aspect radar is the easiest.
F-14’s PD mode is the worst at 11.7, and obviously the worst at 12.0.
You do not and have never had to be 90 degrees to an F-14 radar.

…you dont notch the F-14 radar you notch the Phoenix radar

And again tell me how you effectively notch with an RWR that looks like this while a missile is heading towards you at mach 3-4 with IOG

The Phoenix radar is even weaker.
I put the radar 90 degrees or more and wait until it to stop tracking.
That or I drain it of all energy.

So tell me how are you putting yourself to 90° in a mirage F1 when your RWR only gives you a general 90° area where the missile is

The AMRAAM has a weaker radar than the Phoenix it doesn’t mean its not resistant to notching ARH radar seekers are built to be resistant to notching and chaff interference

I’ve done it in the Mig-21Bis and Viggen.
I haven’t used F-1C standard cause it starts with Magic 1s and I have the F-1CT spaded due to it starting with Magic 2s.

now add an additional 2 or 3 F14s hurling those missiles and the RWR freaks out.

Yeah that too anything above 10.7 should be 8v8 only

Tbh thats a better solution for a lot of the arb issues than a lot of people are coming up with.

I might believe F-14B(U) for Air SIM better F-14B

and F-14B(U) armed AIM-54C+ Phoenix and GBU-32(V)2/B & GBU-38(V)2/B JDAM like F-14D ?

Should have same loadouts with F-14D because 54C+ wasn’t dedicated to the F-14D as far as I know.

ok, SAAB J35XS (for example) don’t have RWR on 10.7, playing against F-14A with FOX-3 missiles. Is it good? for F-14 yes, but not for 10.7 planes. F-14A must be at least 12.0-12.3 and F-14B 12.3-12.7 just for balance

I mean the best distance for an AIM-54 to hit an enemy hugging the deck is about 30 km, and at least at that distance you can see the huge smoke.

IMO It should be with better IR missiles.

bro, u can see smoke when it got launched, but only if u know that enemy has F-14
