AIM-4F/G can turn 27G ‘only in the catalogue’

AIM-4F can’t even be used like R-3R or AIM-9C does due to non proxy fuse.
has HMS, but the missile itself is way too useless to take advantage of it.
The M61A1 cannon is trustworthy, but it accelerates more slowly than other supersonic counterparts in 9.3BR.
If I can swap ‘4 AIM-4G in bomb bay’ by 4 R-3S/AIM-9B on wing pylon
I will swap those unreliable junk with no hesitation.
TLDR:
1- Yes, F-106A itself may be a problem along with all other supersonic jets in 9.3BR
2- No, F-106A doesn’t require a BR increase unless decompression comes up and every other Supersonic jets goes up.

More like 3-5km for the time it takes for bay to open, seeker to lock and fire, and bay to close. There can also be multiple enemies
idc, i already hate the plane with that broken cannon and maneuverability for 9.3 + 4 missiles that are ez to use

ez to use, very hard to use effectively I’ve only had 4/4 hit once and I played a lot of games in it. but if you’re not going to change your mind discussion is useless.
So you admit the missiles are basically useless, since no proxy fuse, slow, awful range, and you can’t even use them because you have to anticipate (your words) enemies coming, so you need to leave your weapon bay closed

The missiles and weapon bay troubles negate any advantage of HMD and are more of a hindrance most of the time than an advantage

If I can fly Mirage IIIC only equipped with 2x AIM-9B on 9.3BR
I will choose that over this junk in no time.
AIM-4F/G has an insanely short range, which gives almost no advantage when sniping clueless targets.
If it flies at least 1.5km-ish, somewhat similar to AIM-9D/G, then it would’ve a serious problem.

They have the range to give you time to do all that, and you don’t have to wait for a weapons bay to open

then use it like a normal person: high altitude missile shots with AIM-4F launching them at 7000/10000 meters to enemies below u so they can get the speed they lose in secs

f106 doesn’t have look down capacity besides at high altitude it’s a pulse radar so a single chaff drop will make the aim4f miss, or you could roll and it’ll miss because it lacks a proximity fuse.

If AIM-4F is problem because of
-it can’t be flared
-can locked in head-on
-can be used on enemy below you (false)
So if we consider that F-106A needs to be 10.0BR
MiG-21S with R-3R would be gone 10.3BR long ago.
at least R-3R flys longer than AIM-4F, and has proximity fuse.

theoretically I think it could maybe hit if you’re going mach 2 at 40k feet against a non maneuvering target.
