The problem with pulling hard is that it sacrifices your speed and leave you more vulnerable to revenge killing, while using the missiles correctly (even as buggy as they currently are) gives you the option to keep up your speed. Plus they work as last ditch flares.

Well you have your own play style, but I like AIM-4 and I know how to use them.
Anyways even if they add the Falcons to the F-101C you will be able to continue using the F-101C without them, it won’t affect you anyhow

It’s a more bulky mig 19 without any missiles so it mostly needs a lower rating.
Sps k and all 9.7-10.3 are busted and should all arguably move up 2 rating steps. Devs don’t seem to care one bit though, considering they increased rating of f104c which wasn’t any noticeable problem over other stuff. Insane that goes up in rating before the f106 who just almost out everythings everyone easily in return for bad missiles which is dumb

Do you ever, and I mean this, do you EVER actually think about what downtiering some random jet will actually do to the matchmaker? Do you KNOW what BR compression is?
It gets TWO ENTIRE REAR ASPECT MISSILES and NO GUN LOL, please go somewhere else with that 10.3 idea

Sps k and friends are all too good in a downtier because jumping from 10g to 20g missiles for only 0.3 rating increase is ridiculous. I’ve probably played every single 9.7 now besides the harriers and almost all of them are just too good in even a slight downtier and not a full one

Yes, which would still make the 21SPS K useless if it was 10.3. The only reason it works now is because half its opponents dont have flares. If you move everything up, it stops seeing the flareless jets, all of a sudden it’s a gen1 mig21 with awful flight model and no gun with only 2 missiles facing actual jets
No. You either don’t have a gun with only 2 missiles or you have a gun, only two missiles, but now don’t have flares so you fall victim to the same missiles you are talking about.
First I’m talking about all 9.7 planes. They will still see no flare planes, even if moving 1 step. At least 1 step minimum is necessary and urgently needed, because planes with point and click 20g missiles see aim9b equipped planes way too often.
The only defense you have is preemptively turning, but since it’s a team game that’s hard to manage especially when a guy can just come out of nowhere and sneak up on you.
This also makes room for the current (arguably) best 9.3 jets ariete and f106 to go up 0.3

If these planes somehow someway become bad after this just then move current 10.3 and above even higher cause flares are such a huge survivability boost.
Also even if one argues sps k is the worst 9.7 jet, unless they REALLY split up this rating, at least in my opinion I’d still want it higher and same rating as other current 9.7. Fundamentally it is still supersonic fighter with r60s and a gun or flares, and isn’t an extreme whale like yak38.
From what I can find, carrying the missiles, even on variants that had external hardpoints for them, required installing extra fire control systems that required the removal of the guns to fit, so it’s one or the other regardless of the model of Voodoo in question.

yea the aim-4 are good only if you know when to use it, the motor on it is so ass but if u got used to it and know how it make the missile work, then it works great.
F106 is such a fun plane to fly but it isnt easy to fly it, the aim4 doesnt carry the plane and u need to manage ur speed carefully (stay above .9 Mach ideally)
Well part of the original point of the post was that f101c needs 9.0 regardless of other stuff mentioned in all these comments, and I kind of agree. It’s just clearly outclassed by the mig 19 by turning noticeably worse and losing the 2 aim9b. All it really has is better gun firepower but it’s not like that was any sort of issue on mig 19

F101C doesn’t get missiles, as historically only the F101B carried missiles

Its compression. Period.
It cannot go down below 9.3.
But lacks the performance to compete with basically anything in an uptier.
