not unique case, Romanian aircraft like IAR-81C still use Italian voice since the early day of Italian TT
These are M20s, look at the length of the first and second one in the 1st photo, you can see they are not nearly as long as an M40 would be, not to mention the breech design is also that of an M20.
yeah honestly I’m not entirely sure it was the M40 anyway, but I dont recall us ever using M20s. Marine corps only uses the chinese variant (52 & 56), but i guess we couldve captured the original via PERMESTA as well
Yeah i think it’s M20 too since it didn’t have spotting rifle and the mount in the gun
it’s either captured from PERMESTA or the Army actually use the chinese copy
tbf this kind of thing is not surprising since during my research for Squad Indonesian ground force suggestion i found out that Marines use chinese copy of RPO-A
Also since the M40 is longer the gun should be reaching the top of engine bay if installed in the back like this Indian M40 Jonga

In that case it could be a Type 52 or 56 as well, I don’t know how to tell them apart from the M20 but they’re obviously just foreign copies.
If anyone interested i found a document listing many weapons still in Indonesian armed force/MoD inventory during my research for Squad, including vehicle weaponry such as Madsen-Saetter for the EBR
