Expanded List of Indonesian Vehicles - Air

Indonesia operates the Su-30MK2, and this content is relevant to the topic of this thread and should not be deleted

Su-30mk2 has n001vep which is compatible with rvv-sd.
Su-30mkk meanwhile has n001ve, which I have not seen any documentation for that says it is compatible with rvv-sd.
Anyways this is getting off topic and should be moved to the su-27 flanker thread

In reality, the only Su-30MK2 variant compatible with the RVV-SD missile is the one in service with China, and China’s Su-30MK2 has undergone specialized modifications

Why are we talking about Chinese vehicles in the Indonesian thread 😭🙏

We are not discussing Chinese vehicles themselves, but rather their armament and compatibility. If a weapon can only be used after modifications, it should not be granted to the same unmodified base vehicle by default. For example, the Indonesian Su-30MK2 and the Chinese one belong to the same basic model, but differ in detailed configurations. Therefore, their armament should be defined separately, instead of your claim that “the Su-30MK2 is equipped with the N001VEP radar and is compatible with the RVV-SD missile”. As for the Su-30MKK, it is fitted with the N001VE radar, and I have never seen any official document stating that it has compatibility with the RVV-SD. Such a statement is simply absurd. You were the one who started the argument based on the fact that China’s Su-30MK2 can use the RVV-SD. When discussing armament issues, one should be accurate and rigorous, distinguishing between the same model of vehicles operated by different countries. It is not valid to conclude that all models with the N001VEP radar can use the RVV-SD, just because China’s modified Su-30MK2 can do so

When did I say this, I said this over my old bug report for Venezuelans one
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/3FReUTXnI6Ft
In that source it says n001vep can be upgraded to use rvv sd, not just chinas su30mk2
Im also the one that bug reported the su30mkk radar
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/DbdJHKoQVQsn
I think Ik what I’m talking about

I apologize for being arbitrary, as I previously assumed you were referring to the Su-30MK2 jets in service with China, since they are the only Su-30MK2 variant proven to operate the RVV-SD missile in reality. However, no country has actually upgraded its N001VEP radar to use the RVV-SD as claimed in the source you cited, and China’s Su-30MK2 did not achieve this compatibility through official upgrades either. Instead, it was done by modifying the fire control system.

Nevertheless, this at least proves that the radar has the potential to employ the RVV-SD. Neither Venezuela nor Indonesia has publicly demonstrated the capability to mount and launch this missile on their aircraft of the same type. Furthermore, only a handful of countries around the world have even purchased the RVV-SD missile. The claim from your source that the radar can use the RVV-SD after upgrades remains unconfirmed to this day. My earlier judgment was one-sided, and I apologize to you again

In regards to the T-50’s radar, back in 2023 some units look like this, clearly without the radar unit on the housing

Redirecting...

However another photo also show this.

In the image above you can clearly see that there is in fact some components being hidden on the radar housing. This type of photo is quite rare

The main question is what type of radar?

There were two radars mentioned, AN/APG-67 or the EL/M-2032. But going by the standard KAI spec, it should carry the EL/M-2032, this is also corroborated by the fact that EL/M-2032 radar was being marketed by an Indonesian defence company in ~2014. But of course we cant really confirm whether thats 100% accurate or not

There’s no publication yet on what kind of radar that T-50i used, that’s why I also scrapped my T-50i suggestion

you do have to wonder why though? We already has images of the Falcon STAR’s F-16 radar, a program which untill recently hasnt even been fully completed yet.

Yet the T-50s which supposedly all had receive the radar nowadays, has almost 0 images of the radar

Namuwiki has this claim:

EL/M-2032 - 나무위키

check out Indonesian [4] there

Could not verify the claims since it doesnt have a source, but it does make a bit of sense. The deal with SK was for the installation on Gun + Radar, because originally the T-50 arrived unarmed. Nowadays you can clearly see the gun holes for the cannon

(Left is original, right is modern)

The gun is very clearly’s been installed. But we dont know for sure about the radar. Now if KAI is the one who implements the radar, then surely they would just use the same one they’ve been using no?

what version of the su-30 did indonesia have before the mk2? Was it the knaapo one? or was it an irkut one?

knAAPO since its basically the MKK, originally the air force wanted the MKI by Irkutsk but it wasnt available

the engines are different from eachother though, 27 uses Salut’s & 30 uses UMPO’s

we dont know yet, the reason why it took so long to put it in the future vehicles section was purely because we dont know which variant it was. For the longest time its presumed that its ex-PLAAF B version, but some sources also throws the word C/CE, so again its not 100% agreed

B+ here is basically (B variant refurbished), because that’s what sources suggest is going to be the final deal

If I remember right on the mind of the snail it’s a case by case situation. Gaijin will sometimes add failed bids if tested, waiting for delivery if it’s sure, and tech tree need.

Delivery means highly likely in my opinion especially planes already modelled in game.

we kinda know this outcome, but its now official, Boeing has confirmed that the F-15ID is dead

EDIT: Additional airframe that ID will get: MiG-29s

Rumours about MiG-29 aggressor squadron from last year finally bears fruit, the E-System Solutions would provide a squadron of MiG-29C and MiG-29UB for aggressor training.

Although I think the Indonesian Air Force would not directly operate the MiGs, instead they would be operated by contractor, kinda like the Draken International or Top Aces. It’s only my opinion though.
