Why would they want a other batch of 4+ or ++ gen fighter when they got the rafales with the meteor on order ?
Indonesia has been on a spending alot of money for different systems lately, they are a major contributor in the KF-21 and yet still want to buy another 5th gen
i think it might be to diversivy their equipment

AF has a plan for more fighter squadron in the future? dont mind that, we need to fulfill that plan now! buy everything
i still havent mentioned some crazy bad procurement plans for the future, like the used-Midas or the second-hand pakistani AWACS

Are there any plane that the AF is gonna retire their old fleet ?
It could be that they wanna replace the su27 and the f16 fleet with newer batch
IIRC the hawks is most likely going to be either retired or kept in reserve, the Su-35 is being brought in supposedly to replace the older sukhois, they’re going to be put into the same base so who knows
F-16 news are pretty quiet, nothing to mention there

the twitter page is good for the talk shows, like the KF-21 discussion, i learned quite a lot from there
but yes the facebook page guy is definitely the more “reckless” in the info they post

AFAIK it’s just a rumor started by a Janes article, as I haven’t heard local sources mentioning them. The Indonesian Navy themself also being vague on what they plan to do with Garibaldi, aside from its peacetime duties
