Cough Cough Blue Fox Cough Cough
Yep, essentially, or the outstanding placeholder HUD. Flame had that report submitted before the new cockpit even made it to live.
No it’s not, they already answered it matches what documentation they have.
on War Thunder — Realistic Military Vehicles Online Combat Game for PC, Xbox and PlayStation. Play for Free News the obj 292 is still pinned instead of the active jaguar is event, kinda annoying when i want to check a date real quick
I skipped the previous grind so I haven’t provided feedback on this new type of event yet, so here goes:
Firstly:
I work full time (80-85 hours per two weeks), somewhat irregular hours.
Occasionally I will have a few long shifts in a row with little time in between (barely enough to eat and sleep, basically). So obviously an event that has discrete limits on days I can participate is not really good for me - I could fail to achieve main prize if I just get two such sets of days on my schedule, regardless of how I do ingame.
Secondly:
I did a few matches in air arcade, rank4. I estimated this to be the ideal range for me personally to participate, and I’m confident I can retain an average score over 2k per match.
Based on my last 7 battles, I averaged ~2.3k, which gets reduced to 2.07k due to game mode/rank multipliers. This then means that I would need 22 matches in total every 2 days. The match length averaged out to approximately 11 minutes, and the queues were in the 1-2 minute range, so lets say a total of 12 minutes per match.
Extrapolating from there I see that I am personally expected to play for 264 minutes, or 4.4 hours in each 2 day set, only able to miss one set.
The average player score in those matches was 1226 points, although that is brought lower by people who immediately quit upon start of the match (family emergency? hated map? crashed game?). At 1226 score, it would take 37 matches (444 minutes = 7.4 hours), but using 1500 as a reasonable average player score count (disregarding the very low score outliers) the expected amount of grind for the average player is still 30 matches (6 hours).
I believe that’s an unreasonable requirement considering these events are now the only type that exists. In the past you, Gaijin, have defended hard grinds by saying that easier ones exist and that there are events for everyone - this is no longer the case as this is the only type of event. Some harder tasks that were fast to complete for higher skill players were removed, and you defended that by saying you want everyone able to complete events.
Do you aim for the average player to be able to participate (and be rewarded for it) in these events?
Since I only have my own limited set of data to go by, do you think you could reveal actual data from a large sample set (all matches played in total) to which only you have access to?
I’d love to hear about average match length, time spent in queue and average score.
What do you think is an appropriate amount of grind to receive a reward vehicle?
The grind only gets crazier if you have no desire to use the vehicle yourself but want to sell it for others (who, for example, did not have time to participate during this event but have disposable cash).
The average player, with their (estimated) 1500 score, needs 100 hours to reach 750k score.
If they were to be able to sell the vehicle for 60 euros worth, it’d be an hourly wage equivalent of 60 cents an hour. This of course requires holding on to it for some time since the vehicle can be directly bought during the event for 8*999 GE, which is less than 60 euro worth.
100 hours over 18 days is equivalent to a 39 hour work week, meaning a full time job. And you can’t use that money outside War Thunder. (assuming you could gain 60 euro worth of currency, you’d be receiving a 60 cent hourly wage equivalent. Obviously game currency is not directly relatable to real world currency, but it’s a consideration).
If you just want the vehicle for yourself and don’t care about trade the average player requires about half as much work (~19 hour work week equivalent).
To sum it up, I feel like the appropriate amount of grind would be 22500 score instead of 45000.
I’ve also decided to skip grinding this one just like I skipped the tank.
edit:
Purchase price reduction if you hit 85% or 95% seems awful to me, the number of people who are limited by the cutoff timer (rather than general availability of time in their daily schedules) are sure to be low (middle of day in Europe/Moscow, middle of night in USA), and among those you’re still going to run into the issue of someone reaching 84% and not gaining any benefit from it.
And the prospect of paying 499 GE for what is 6750 score doesn’t sound great to me - it feels MORE expensive for what you get, 13.5 score per GE instead of 45 score while still having what’s basically a full time job of grind. Hell, at 94% score you’d be paying 1 GE for each 5.4 score…
You should instead give equal percentage discount: reach 34% of max score, gain 34% discount, and reaching 85% means 85% discount - and the disappointment of being a few percentages off is going to be much smaller for anyone who was likely to spend any GE in the first place
Imagine you have 3 friends (some of you do!).
One of them likes playing tanks, another likes planes and the weirdo likes playing boats.
You like playing all types and the friends are online at different times, mostly.
Now an event rolls around and two of your friends ignore it and ask you to play what they prefer.
You tell them “I can’t, I have to grind full time for this event”.
And this continues all year round.
Good.
Maybe people will stop grinding events in order to sell the vehicles if this trend continues.
That’s what allowed vehicles to get onto the market in higher numbers, now we’re stuck with $70 price tag for any random event vehicle instead of $20.
20 GJN was price for OP Suffer and Winter Suffer events, crafting event prizes were always starting at around 40 GJN. Now Object is very good and trolly so 60 is okayish price for it too. Problem is there are 15k buy orders and only 2k sell orders, the price will hopefully go up again. I would love to see it being 300 GJN in a year just like Moderna.
And we won’t get any of them anymore, so now these vehicles are just permanently out of reach for players, fantastic.
As much as i dont like air rb, this one is much faster to grind. I forgot about it and remembered it started last minute. I only had 3.5 hours before the first star ended yet I was able to get it with about 20min to spare.
Good.
Maybe people will stop grinding events in order to sell the vehicles if this trend continues
Are you saying that its good that people aren’t able to sell event vehicles for GJN with the absurd requirements( if so that’s just plain EVIL) or that its good that people wont waste their time grinding to sell it ?
Both i guess?
Market existing is the reason certain older reward vehicles are unaviable normally in the first place as you cant have reruns etc.
Only ~the top 15% of players were averaging a 1500 score or better in Air AB before this event. Average player score is lower: Data Analysis: what is the actual average player's score per mode? (and how long will it take you to do this event)
Note this was before the damage model changes which have significantly reduced net score in air modes since that data was captured.
how much should we expect the Jaguar IS to cost on the market? should we be looking at object 292 prices or 40ish bucks?
Prolly a tad higher than jag E at launch due to missiles.
what was Jag E price?
I’m actually sick of this crap. I consistently complete the 3-day goal for squadron participation by the 2nd day and the BEST I have achieved is just over 11,000 points. If I DOUBLE my efforts, I will still be less than half-way towards achieving one of the tasks and I need to get 8?!?!?!?!?! This is a load of crap! If you don’t want us to have a vehicle, don’t offer it to us! Sure, I know that some are earning this but is it really inspiring participants when the goal is so far out of reach for all but the top 1% OF the top 1% OF THE TOP 1% (that’s 0.0001% for the mathematically challenged. This is nothing but SPAM!
Thanks for further context.
~1500 did seem higher than I expected, but it was the value I got from my (tiny) sample size
I manually calculated from the scores of each player in those matches and then just added a bunch of extra to cover for early quitters, so my numbers are definitely not accurate, and I erred on the side of being generous. (I only even found out about average score being displayed on player card after the post)
However those 7 matches I used was pretty well representative of my own games since apparently my personal average score in that mode is 2236, and even with that average I decided not to participate.
Everyone I’ve talked to that I know are quite decent at the game are saying the grind is too much if you aren’t unemployed (and don’t go to school), basically.
It feels like this event grind is only supported by those who are playing a different game: Marketplace Thunder. Artificial scarcity can be a positive for them, but the average player doesn’t have the amount of time to dedicate.
“Spam”?
Ain’t what you wanted to say is “Scam”?
Anyway
Also,… there is no way gaijin will change that,… because they want you to pay off the rest of the task you didn’t reached in time (999GE each task).
Those vehicules are events, at the current price of top tier premium vehicule,… (999×8= 7992 GE)
Basiacally not worth the prize, and not worth the time.
