Only “bad” part of ipa 7 is it being a 2 seater, but amk kit makes that a non issue
Wait no that was 08 one ups

I thought IPA 8 was 2 seater and 98-07 was IPA7 which is the single seater.
Yeah ipa 8 edited it already xD
What is the source for that? The EAP was designed to do 30° AoA, and the flight control system, and general design are very close to Eurofighter.
Wait isn’t IPA7 owned by EADS, how are Gaijin with corprorate modifications do we know?
They might well say ‘Its not a Luftwaffe aircraft so its not legitimate to give it the IRST and AMK found outside of service installation’. Or something to that effect.
I’m hoping not because I want AMK in some form.
German prototype the cross is quite clear on it
I know its one of the German registered IPA aircraft but the aircraft itself is owned by EADS at least according to the EF website. Still that can’t restrict it I don’t think because there are other company mod aircraft in-game.
Hushkit says 24, Flight global says 25, LM listed the figure as 25 in a comparison with the F-35 but I believe these are all in reference to either the DA or Tranche 1 Eurofighters.
Other places seem to point slightly higher but none are reliable sources and EAP was rated for 30 but they debated partially improving the FCS as they thought it could probably get up to 35 without airframe modification, and with twin tails it was a whole different story.
However air and space forces magazine lists in excess of 33 degrees AoA which is what they thought EAP was capable of even with the Crank so straightening the wing might have made that more feasible.
They cite RAND as their source.
gimme a bit to look for the source, but im confident in the number. The Eurofighter was actually known for having poor nose pointing ability, which is partly the reason why the AMK kit was made. Its a superb rate fighter though, which is something a lot of ppl get wrong simply cuz its a delta.
@MythicPi @Rileyy3437 Here’s the AOA limit for the EAP, straight from the BAe design documents:
EAP does have a different wing design though.
Double delta vs normal delta on the EF
if by nose pointing you mean high aoa authority sure. However, Eurofighter has a g onset of ~12g/s which is just insane and allows for great snap shots
Yep book has something much the same.
G onset of 15G is the highest I have seen from a German Army Medical Pamphlet
I recall that was why the Germans wanted a twin tail on the TKF 90 and later ACA/EAP as is mentioned in the book, but BAE found something alternate which is why EAP had a single tail. If anyone is interested I will look back through and find what they say in the book.
Heres a couple quotes, I apparently cant find the exact number at the moment, but this gives an idea on relative performance:
Eurofighter ITR is still good because it has low wing loading, so it doesnt need as much AOA for lift than something like a hornet, but its low speed nose pointing ability (without the AMK kit) is still very poor. F-16 at 25 deg was considered very low. F-14 can fly stable at 45 deg AOA:
and afaik the F-18 has even better AOA capability. The F-15 is somewhere between the F-16 and F-14. EF2000 is basicly bottom of the pack for modern fighters in terms of AOA when it doesnt have the AMK kit.
in wt its probably gonna drag its nu- uhh fuel tanks all over other planes’ face just because most dogfights devolve into rate fights
Interesting, is that full presentation available somewhere? The British Civil Aviation Authority also state that the Eurofighter has a 15g/s g-onset rate:
either way, 15g/s is just bananas. you reach max g in like .6 seconds
I can Upload it if u want to have it. But that page is pretty much the only thing that has something to do with the Performance of the EF every other page is health related for the Pilot.
