kinda depends, WT dogfights devolve into whatever fight the other aircraft is relative to nose position, since most players dont actually understand 1 or 2 circle fights, and almost all players partake in pure HUD BFM.
It just seem useful to have, as it appears to confirm the Eurofighter can pull 12 g, and doesn’t have a hard 9g limit like the F-16 had IRL.
Here i hope this works
Thanks
that is interesting actually, even pilots said it was limited to a bit over 9G (9.3-9.5).
it’s >25 degrees mate, not sure where 24 comes from
In the standard low demand mode the rudder is damped above 25 degrees AoA, in this same mode G-is limited to 90%(8.1G’s) and roll rate is limited to 200 deg’s( from 215).
we also have to remember though that gaijin is unlikely to actually model the FBW properly like this.
the aerodynamics by themselves wont be accurate either as they’ll presumably model it like the gripen. i.e. it’ll be aerodynamically stable.
regarding this, possible changes are:
- seekerhead
- propulsion
- datalink
- warhead
They’re starting this year and until 2025 they should know what they’ll change.
so after reading this again, i’m pretty sure that its directly linked to the planned purchase of 969 AIM-120C-8s. the report states that development is planned for all 3 missile types. no idea what that’ll mean for IRIS-T but we know that Meteor is getting an MLU so the only thing remaining is the AMRAAM
idk it just lines up perfectly
So until the actual evidence proves that Germany will mount the 120C8 missile in the typhoon, the German typhoon will only be 120B and Meteor two
well meteor is better then amraams either way, usa is only still actievely working on the meteor equivalent the aim 260 which hasnt reached production state yet
And i think they are working on an AESA seeker for meator now as well
At least the UK and Japan are working on mating the AAM-4 seaker onto the meteor motor and body to get it to fit in the Japanese F-35s
Was that not cancelled?
That isn’t remotely true. They have two different purposes, and the latest AMRAAM are superior in a couple of ways.
The USA’s ‘Meteor equivalent’ is not the AIM-260. The AIM-260 is a high performance AMRAAM equivalent fitting the same form factor as the AIM-120 while providing additional performance across the board. Improved seeker, maneuverability, form factor, motor, etc.
The project conculdes this month iirc, where that goes from there is more devolpment into Japan’s next ARH missile for the F-X/GCAP programme, it only got pulled from production cause the French threw a hissy fit as per normal. I fully expect the UK MoD to see about joining that new project as well.
i also you think the F/A18E is better then the EFT as well
I am all ears.
Meteor doesn’t have high-angle off-boresight launch capability and can’t fit 10 of them on an F/A-18. Looking at the meta for war thunder… I think the Meteor will be less useful than the latest AMRAAM models.
