Seeing how the iris-t performs on the elde 98 spaa, I don’t see why we don’t have it on the eurofighter when Mica exists
Yeah…
But alas, giving HOBS to anyone other than the Flavour of the month nations is against the ToS
As faar as I am aware no TVC, just more Power,
Possible also the new Cockpit:
But as of now, not much is known what will be realy new on the T5
Yeah. Especially given msot of it can be fitted to T2s just fine.
Will be interesting to see what the T5 gets specifically
This looks awful, tbh
Idk it’s looks highly valuable more convenient and easier to use, specially in A2G rolls and as mentioned in the video; it give better situational awareness, faster and better targeting process, and better information management compared to the old display
Ofc the large air display will have better resolution too, plus it’s highly in development right now and alot more changes will probably be seen in the future and more than likely it won’t be seen till the end of this decade when T5 will be introduced.
I mean, aesthetically, I agree with shot_maker, these new “modern” jet cockpits look absolutely horrendous, but I do agree with ya that functionnaly, they are superior.
That being said, it does somwwhat feel like the extremely problematic direction car designers have taken over the last decade or so of replacing just about every mechanical control in a car with a menu+touch screen, and they’re actually pulling away from that nowadays since research has proven that it actually renders the vehicle more difficult to operate and lowers situational awareness greatly, so it’ll be interesting to see if the same blunder is being made with modern jets…
That being said, cars and jets have vastly different environments they operate in, and combat jets have HOTAS + voice commands to help anyways. Its just an interesting parralel to me.
Eurofighter already flies like it has amk kit does it really matter
Uh…
The Typhoon in game doesnt even fly like the Typhoon without the AMK IRL.
AMK would push it even further. Couple with those new engines and my god. We’d be golden for a while
Typhoon irl is limited to 24 aoa and with its aoa limiter on it pulls around 29 just fine which is about how much amk would affect it
I want to say its something like 31°/sec STR or something with AMK, (but seriously dont quote me on that) vs the 20°/sec it should be currently.
Go ask a pilot irl and they’ll say they’re limited to 24 aoa
Spoiler
The main point of amk is to carry heavier loads and increase aoa, idk if it’s gonna increase str
Take this as a better answer. I think i got STR and AoA mixed up in the ancient memory I was recalling
Okay forget what I just said, pretend I don’t say anything. Amk eurofighter has insane aoa, even more than what I remembered it to be
Yep. Its no small upgrade.
if coupled with the EJ230. It would be a massive upgrade for the Typhoon in terms of FM. Ontop of the exisitng bug reports for the Typhoon without AMK
Gonna be one of the things I hope they cover or that I’ll ask the engineer during his lecture about the AMK kit, but I’d assume it would also improve STR, since the AMK kit adds larger control surfaces, LERX and improved vortex generators, all things that should increase lift, which should mean it needs to pull less for the same quantity of lift, which in turn should mean less induced drag for a given quantity of lift.
Basicly, the AMK kit works by giving the flaperons more control authority via increased size, while increasing the wings lift (particularly during high AOA maneuvers) through the use of vortex generations from the LERX and fuselage strakes, similar to what all the DeltaDucks with close coupled canards use said close coupled canards for, or how the F/A-18 and its LERX’s, so it probably provides a rather high increase in lift compared to how small the change looks.
Either way though, we’ll have our answers (or some of them) on the 29th.
Why, is there an air show or something you’re attending?
Did we habe engine upgrades / alternatives available?
I only remember the TVC engines, but i highly doubt they get adapted
