Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

Lecture about the AMK on the EFT being given by one of the engineers that developed the AMK

From what I can find about it.

The engine exists, but so far has only been offered as an upgrade/option for the Gripen E.

But I cant think of any reason why it wouldn’t be proposed as an upgrade for the EFT in the future

But I doubt any nation wants to entertain engine upgrades alongside the upgrade to CAPTOR-E and other upgrades like AMK

Current EJ200 is already derated for improved engine life anyways, if they really wanted increase thrust, itd take them less than a day to get the currently installed engines back up to full power.

Makes a lot more sense to do that first before tossing in a new engine.

Yee it’s garbage design if you ask me when it comes to that regard, it need more adjustment in the cockpit, better placement and maybe tilting it a bit down at an angle to make it easily accessible to the pilot and so it doesn’t obstruct frontal view.

Well in cars as you sed it lowers the awareness greatly but that’s bc the driver need to check his mirrors front and back all the time, instead of looking on the screen, in jet fighters, the pilot spend most of the time checking the screens in the end they prove almost all the info the pilot need to fly, his position, speed, alt, radar and etc.

ofc now the pilot will be able to look at all of these at once all available to him on one single screen instead of switching between 3 smaller ones, but i believe it need more work better adjustments, the screen need to be something comfortable to use so it doesn’t annoy the point or give false info or lower the time of decision making, and i believe they took all of this in regards when designing that thing, other wise only thing left is to make it a 4k screen with 300 true fps so it can deliver the best performance XD.

I am a bit surprised no one has brought this up

Is the German EFT finally getting its correct skin ?

On another hand I think the addition of HMSD with full color or at least multi color capabilities increase pilot awareness much more than what is lost by those digital screens. This combined with the dozen of commands available directly on the sticks mean pilots can also probably operate most important tasks while looking outside

Spanish eft skin got changed from germany to italy.

No that is a skin for the Italian EF you can see the irst

Woah. Definitely getting that, Spanish Eurofighters look best imo

That’s so right. Thing flies about like the real Typhoon like the in-game F-16 flies like a real F-16. They don’t. They fly like the secret ww2 UFOs.

You do know there are pending buffs to the Typhoons ITR and STR right?

On manual controls you go infinitely above the aoa limit and fly like you’re in a tvc sukhoi plane. But I digress, and that’s only sim really

Thats just WT being WT though.

and actually doing that is more likely to just get you killed. especially as the Typhoon has a signficantly lower G tolerance than it should. (About 12Gs vs the 18 or so it should have in-game and the Rafale should have about 16G but can pull 20+G)

I’m all in for it as long as every control stays analogue and the display is there simply to enhance information and give better situational awareness. I had the unfortunate displeasure to use a touch display on a car before, it feels awful, nothing beats physical controls lol.

That I agree with. My car has a single mechanical button that disables the display on the centre console. Its awesome. But ive been in cars where that same button is half buried behind a menu and using the tocuh screen is a pain.

My car is still old school, I don’t want to dig through 10 menus to dim the display or change the AC 😭

Can you imagine being in the EF cockpit and trying to change anything with a touchscreen while you’re doing Mach 1 and pulling 9G turns.

Yep, that would suck.

But what Im most interested in is how the Pilots control the AR displays in the Striker II

Something tells me it’ll be really finicky at first and there may be some property loss and casualties as a result

As long as it’s a good, reliable touchscreen that is always clearly readable then it wouldnt be any worse than doing the same with conventional MFD. But that’s a lot of ideal assumptions
