I think you mean “isn’t”? 18 Storm Shadows might exceed the max takeoff weight ever so slightly.
Please, let him land haha.
A wealth of primary sources and photograph evidence, which is all you originally asked for, but you’re still questioning it? Why you are so desperate to see the eurofighter limited?
only by 9 missiles
teorically there are the 3x and 4x racks
But I assume the 3x was chosed for the Eurofighter
You shouldn’t make assumptions from questions.
Either way, reading over this thread, it does seem that the 18x Brimstone loadouts were prior to Brimstone integration. Note that Brimstones were not integrated until 2015 which is when we got the statement that Eurofighters will carry 6 Brimstones.
This 18x Brimstone loadout is from Eurofighters website in 2013, and so the potential loadout was only a concept at the time.
but still the fact is the rails all wired the same, and we have prove that they have been equipped or were initialy planned, they just decide to not use them
I don’t think it will make a difference regardless, you’d need a nuke with no deaths to spawn an EF with 18 Brimstone 4 meteor and 2 SRAAM’s.
At that point just take the nuke.
Like it or not Gaijin have already set a precedent that if there’s a photo of a weapon fitted then that’s good enough for it to be considered, subject to balance considerations. For example the F-5s get to carry MER racks on the wing pylons, despite that not featuring in any flight manuals or sales brochures (they all say that the MER rack can only be carried on the centreline hardpoint) and never having been done in service. However because there is a single photo of a prototype F-5 carrying MER racks on the wings it gets to them in game.

“With SPEAR3 each Eurofighter Typhoon will be capable of carrying up to 12 mini cruise missiles, compared to two standard cruise missiles currently, as well as a full air-to-air weapons suite, bringing revolutionary capability for the platform.
- When they say “as many as 12,” that means as many as 12 whilst also carrying fuel tanks and ASRAAMs.
- Notice how they are using the common air launcher on four pylons here. This makes sense as it’s actually a real life viable mission config. Whereas maximum brimstones on all pylons is not useful in real life.
exactly.
they advertise what is useful
Its not particularly different from a Eurofighter with 6 Brimstones and 8 500lbs LGB’s, all with 4 meteors and 2 IRIS-T/ASRAAM
Yep thats true although the range and the fact that Brimstones don’t need a targetting pod may be useful. Still I doubt that we say an 18 Brimstone loadout in game thats completely team wiping.
TGP’s will always be usefull when doing CAS simply for spotting. Id actually use them in air RB as well if the render range wasnt so terrible.
As for thr pro’s and cons of brimstone vs LGB’s, brimstones have more range and F&F capability, great for SEAD, but they’ll likely have poor post pen damage in WT, like a crappier hellfire, seeing as their warhead is so small. LGB’s will work much better for actually reliably killing tanks.
Airbus to make Eurofighter fit for electronic combat | Airbus
Getting a new RWR to do a function like the HTS on the F-16 and AARGM(AGM-88E);
Allegedly this is only a retrofit of T4 aircraft and true Growler like Eurofighters will follow
Might even be a retrofit for all T2 and T3A aircraft as well
ok so the contract for this is supposed to be signed this year aaaaaaand considering that Tranche 4 is to be delivered from 2025 onwards I think its safe to assume that this will be a retrofit for Eurofighters currently in the arsenal of the Lw
In fact, these are the Gripen’s EW systems
