yep, posted the airbus announcement before.
I hope they retrofit more aircraft with these new systems. it really needs an RWR and EW upgrade. Though i wonder if it removes the TDs…
Not gunna watch the video but what’s this waffle about the TD’s?
the Praetorian DASS’ wingtip pods aren’t identical. the right one houses the 2 towed decoys.
however, the renders we got so far for the EK Eurofighter show 2 pretty much identical wingtip pods(which are very similar to gripen E, just shorter because no rails) so the question is if EF EK will retain these TDs or if they’ll be removed
The TD’s are more useful for an A2A environment, doesn’t mean they aren’t useful or capable.
Sorry for my lack of experience with this plane, but what is the best version of it, German, British, Italian, or are they the same in everything?
The British or German but my bias says British
So the worst version is Italian, why if you know and thank you?
i bet some one more knowledgeable will explain soon but i think it is the Germans due to them still using it and have nothing newer to focus on so it would have the most upgrades but i could be wrong
ok thx bro
The differences are small and variable. The standard UK versions have IRIST equipped, while germany keeps it open to build them in at any point. That being said we have variants with IRIST as well for testing.
Germany tested the Amak kit as well, which would even further improve their air performance but was only used on one tranch 2 versions.
British ones use ASRAAM and Shadow
Germany uses IRIS-T and Taurus.
Both use Meteor.
In short germany propably is superior in ultra short dogfight with the IRIS-T while, UK is better at middle ranges with ASRAAM
and stupid forum, i tried posting since 5min
it also cut off
goddamnit one minute
While the British one with ASRAAM would be better at longer range
done it for you
middle ranges xD long ranges is meteor our beloved
Eventually the Italian will be the best. It has the joint best radar with the UK Typhoons, as well as the possibility to get Brimstone, Meteor and IRIS-T (which in-game I suspect will be better than ASRAAM), as well as Italy having the IRST.
Once you include TV and AMK kit its tricky and it depends who gets it, there’s an arguement for all the nations to get it due to Eurofighter being a multinational consortium. It mostly depends on if Germany gets the IRST or not and if yes how it is justified.
Assuming all receive AMK due to it being an international consortium, Luftwaffe EFT’s would also be open to receive IRST even if they don’t mount it irl. This goes both ways.
Germany has purchased Brimstone 2s for their EFTs (there’s an image of IPA 7 aircraft testing them from 2019).
The only difference then would be the radar, but the superiority of Mk.2 mostly relies on its electronic warfare capabilites (that Germany didn’t focus on for Mk.1, but will for Mk.1 MLU, thus closing the “capability gap”). Of course the question at the end of the day is whether Gaijin even models EW, if they don’t there won’t be a single difference between Mk.1 and Mk.2 radars.
TVC was not mounted to any EFT to my knowledge. Only tested in ground setting.
