Eh, 120 is worse in close range, MICA has similar performance to 120 at long range so i kinda get it. I dont really care in the end. MICA is just the current flavor of the year and something will be added to take its place as it does always
The radar is quite badly implemented, and it does suck to use.
However its A2G could be better, but it shouldn’t be better unless gaijin does something to nerf cas. (Such as forcing a ground spawn, increasing sp costs, or adding better AA)
Also, If someone is going to write a comment saying how Russian mains victimize themselves, they shouldn’t do it in a thread full of German mains (tho the British thread isn’t much better).
Look i tend to mention one word in the german forums and get threats in dms, though the past few months ive been free from.that so im all too used to how people react. Going into a specific nation thread to complain about another nation is a essentially a fate worse than death depending on who you attract lol

The mistake is using R77 to get kills, just trick them with R77 to play defensively then get them with the best missile the R27ER

I think they are a bit worse than R-Darter, tbf ive had R77 just lose all speed because it decided to turn to hard trying to hit a target at 5km. Not often but R77 is pretty bad for long range thanks to drag. Honestly its why i still carry R27ER.
For R-77 long range is everything above 10km lol.
Doesn’t help that the only semi-competitive airframe using it also has a terrible radar.

Send an ET straight after the R-77 and they think they have defeated the missile when the RWR stops and bam the 27ET slams into them

Darters from experience with the SA Gripen you dont want to use them any further than 8-10km.
Gripen has 4 R-Darters how many “terrible” R-77 can the Su-27 bring?
At least the Su-27SM can carry 8x R-77, J-11A at the same BR has the same radar and RWR as the 13.0 Su-27S, not to mention it is actually heavier than the Su-27 and doesn’t get the Su-27SM’s improved engines.
I know this isn’t a contest to which nation “suffers” more, but it is pretty funny.
EFT is 100% better than the Su-27SM, even with the radar deficiencies. Because the radar on the Su-27SM is comparable in terms of how horrible they are.

I think the key difference here though, is that the Su-27SM has the correct radar bar a bug with the double scan and isnt underperforming in any notable way. Its just a bad radar.
Typhoon is underperforming significantly compared to IRL, with a number of outstanding bug reports and more than a few issues that are hard to report/document to look for a fix (things like the radar just not seeing a target is something I only experience with the Typhoon)

lets revisit this when the Su-30 gets added with a PESA Radar, TVC and an insane flight model. The the US gets an F-15 with an AESA Radar. The Gripen E all the while the Typhoon is using a Radar that in game performs worse than the aircraft from the 80s
How long are Italian, German and UK mains going to have to wait for the Tranche 3/4 with an AESA Radar?

You’ll still be able to see two missiles being fired and considering you’re being targeted by a RU plane, it’s pretty easy to assume one of those is the ET, so flaring a few times would be enough.
Judging from Russian get new planes every patch (and still not enough it seem) while German stuck with F-4F ICE for long
A year or two at least for them to get AESA EFT

Yes, I know that the Eurofighter radar is underperforming vastly compared to its irl counterpart. I’m just saying that the Eurofighter is still better than the Su-27SM despite having the botched radar, it holds too much of an advantage in terms of flight performance to be a close fight, not to mention the Fox 3 kit.
Don’t get me wrong, the Eurofighter DESERVES a better radar, but I don’t believe in much of this supposed favoritism for other countries, at least in this regard. The Rafale similarly dropped with many issues and the road to get many of them fixed hasn’t been easy as well, and there are still aspects of the Rafale that are inaccurate to its irl counterpart.
Tranche 3 and 4 are pretty new developments, and I don’t think it is harsh to say that Eurofighter was rather late in incorporating an AESA radar compared to its contemporaries. Granted, it is notably ahead in terms of performance compared to RBE2 AESA, simply because the CAPTOR-E has more T/R modules, and the technology itself should be comparable, if not better than what France used.
Gaijin said that they will do something with the radar this patch, my suggestion is to wait and see if they actually go through with it, and how they will change the radar if that is the case. I most definitely hope that it is a buff.
