Ah yes, because the GR4 being 12.3 makes a dramatic difference.
At least it has PGMs over the EFT, meanwhile SM3 has absolutely nothing over the Su-34 while sharing the exact BR.
Compression in BRs for planes in Ground is astronomical and will only be solved when our Ground moves up from 12.0.
Let me fix it for you:
Useless trash → Something usable
OP spacebar clicker → Even more OP spacebar clicker
Oh yea, look, everything is fair and square
Great example of how looking just at a single metric of vehicles can move your perspective away from balance. That’s like saying one tank is better than the other just by looking at their available weapons.
flarakrad with 2 missles can shoot down missles pretty well if more then 2 are aimed at one
Nope, I’ve been playing against both of them as an SPAA and as a fighter pilot.
Yeah, SM3 beats Gr4 in the “better A2G weapon” metric and loses in others.
Same for Su-34 vs EFT though.
Fair point, but you’ll still stand more of a chance trying to shoot at least 1-2 of them down before smoking up compared to instantly smoking up and just praying for the best.
yeah smoking doesnt work, the IOG gets to good at top tier and they will kill u either way if you dont shoot them down
Don’t forget to add “Miles” before “better”, because that’s how it is. And it’s actually our only point of concern. It has inexcusable and undeniable advantage.
Yes, KHs are much better but you get much less of them. That’s how it is.
Why would it be inexcusable ?
Vehicles are allowed to have advantages over their contemporaries at the same BR (which funnily SM3 and Gr4 aren’t). This is what’s called a tradeoff, something you need to understand if you want to have any resemblance of balance.
You can’t balance a vehicle without looking at the full picture.
There’s having an advantage like better radar and flight performance and then theres literally untouchable from the ground for most nations in game advantage. Oh, and the only SPAA that can reliably attack the launch platform is from the same nation. This is not an advantage anymore, it’s a problem
That’s like saying tank X is better than tank Y because his nation has better helicopters.
You don’t even need to be at top tier to realize CAP is the only true counter for CAS, not AAs.
Not a single AA can reliably attack top tier CAS.
And that’s why we’re getting new AAs.
If you’re aware it’s a fuckin problem, why are you so hell bend on defending it?
I’m not defending the problem with AAs.
RU planes being one-trick ponies isn’t a problem though.
It is a problem. Nothing in the air should ever be untouchable from the ground in a ground mode. Either the KH-38 should never have been added or only after much better SPAA systems
What I find most rediculous is that they totally removed FnF from the Brimstone “because it would be too OP” But IOG was left on the KH-38. With IOG removed they would loose a lot of their potency and be far far more balanced as things like smoke would actually be effective against them
Standoff weapons should just outright not be allowed in ground game modes. The gameplay loop is just about the exact same between using them vs AI or player controlled vehicles, all they do is break balance and bring misery to everyone on the receiving end all for the power fantasy of the player firing them.
Gaijins upcoming SAM “solution” isnt gonna work either. Multi-vehicle SAM setups are going to be tremendously susceptible to glide bombs, seeing as their 2 options would be
- Move so you dont get hit by a bomb, but now you can fire and your radar likely isnt even active either
- Try to shoot down all incoming ordinance (good luck lol)
The only real viable solution is just outright relegating standoff weapons to air modes only.
Or adding CIWS systems (that are actually effective) to protect at least the spawn ares from munitions. Skyrangers with properly modelled AHEAD, Phalanx or the dutch goalkeeper would all be options (is there even a ground based version?). But yes, removing stand-off weapons from ground would be the better option
Gaijin has chosen to relegate ground units to being 2nd class citizens in their own mode, which is pretty evident in higher tiers. Just look at all the helicopters going against AAs without HE-VT or that have IR SAM with really bad range.
G-LYNX was mauling everyone with Hellfires for years.
Then you have A-10 with 65Ds at 10.7 that easily lock past 10km while having Osa as it’s biggest rival.
Half of the aerial fleet should never have been added if that’s the case.
