afaik it just burns with different thrust, no re-lighting.
this is just achieved by chaging the geometry of the propellant
What sort of performance boost will that give compared to the 9M?
Considering top tier should be 15.0-16.0 without any more additions, do we really need something to get much better and only go up by 0.3?
Aim-2000 is IRIS-T. I doubt they would ever add an early version and would be a major buff for the typhoon. Probably would push the typhoon up at least 0.7 BR I reckon
u are aware the Tranche 4 doesnt even exist yet? same with the F-35
They will come at one point but not now
IRIS_T at least should come soonish this year is my guess with meteor a bit later
I’m guessing IRIS-T/ASRAAM on things like the tornado this year. Typhoon and other dogfighter, sometime early next year
I’m hoping this year will be a focus on things like ECM, IR combat overhaul and CBUs. Maybe also ARM with the SAM expansion planned for top tier ground
AIM-2000 speed & maneuvrability better AIM-9M
Personally, might be EF-2000 T3A & T4 (Project Quadriga) BR 15.3 ~ 16.0
I suppose gajin decompression max BR to 14.3 before AIM-2000 (e) instead AIM-9M on EF-2000 T2 Blk 10
u mean like they limited fox3 to gen 3 carriers at first as well?
they wont do it, they will add it to top tier straight away
Was thinking like how A-10/Harrier Gr7 were some of the first with all-aspect IR missiles
Personally, the early 5th gen IR Air-to-Air missile with image seeker 128*128 pixel but no feature datalink & LOAL
AIM-2000 (early) none LOAL capabilities and lack datalink, my guess
You wait Meteor for 4.5 gen fighter aircraft in 5 or 6 years
i dont see them skipping to iir missiles yet , they still need to add aim9m-10 , r73m , python4
There’s a good chance that this one will be the first of its kind to be added, similar to how the Aim-54 was the first ARH missile. It would be much healthier for the game rather than jumping right into incredibly good IR missiles at BRs they shouldn’t be at.
those wont happen,
It would give an to unfair advantage to those specific nations, its only gonna be a straight skip to the next gen
I’m confused by this. When they introduced ARH missiles it was on 4th gen jets.
Remember that when the Berlin Wall came down - the West had a chance to have a REALLY good look at the R-73 - which was quite frankly probably the best IR missile in the world in the 1990s. The sidewinders of that vintage were nowhere near as good.
Soooo…the US decided to put energy into AIM-9X to make a more lethal Sidewinder. The Euros decided to go down the route of IRIS-T, MICA, etc. The British decided to go down the route of ASRAAM. All to match and indeed exceed the capabilities of R-73 by a decent margin; otherwise the whole exercise would be pointless.
The result are a generation of some very, very, very nasty IR missiles that take the baseline of the R-73 (dangerous dogfight missile) and go faster, further with a greater ability to punch through countermeasures. I’d be surprised if they WEREN’T far more capable than a Soviet 1980s vintage IR AAM by a considerable factor - since we’re talking almost 30 years of missile development.
In any case - it’s going to be a complete and total crapshoot when they come to the game - since War Thunder really isn’t ready for it!
I hope gajin add another 4th gen IR Air-to-Air Missile before the early 5th gen IR Air-to-Air Missile
PL-8B, PL-9C, AIM-9M-8 and AIM-9M-9
At least we might see another 4th gen IR Air-to-Air Missile sometime this year
iirc. US, UK and Germany were all developing ASRAAM Together. But Germany wanted something different so pulled out and the US had pressure for a domestic produced missile so pulled out to develop Aim-9X. Which is why ASRAAM was completed about 5 years before the others and why ASRAAM Block 1 used several bits of US tech that they used to block sales until the Block 6 which is purely British built
Pretty much. NATO ‘standardisation’ has always been a distant dream… (grumbles about French intransigence and German reluctance…)
Well the AMRAAM worked ok, but that had the ACEVAL/AIMVAL findings to back it up and basically being the only option at the time since the AIM-54 was far too heavy and large, and the Sparrow couldn’t be readily modified to take an Active Seeker, due to battery constrains, so necessitated a “clean sheet” design.
thats the point ?
people expected fox 3 to be first added limited to gen 3 carriers like mig 21 /23, f4 etc
instead they added it straight to gen 4 aircraft skipping the gen 3s for a large part besides those unfortunate of not having a different option
i mean Uk could have just switched to leopards the main european tank a long time ago as well, but here we are
