Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

I misunderstood sorry.
I must be grateful for the 2-bar setting given by God, until a MRAAM carrier equipped with AESA or PESA appears.

Thank you for your service o7!!!

the thing is, we have an pylon for double amraam in the files (unused)
/its the same on as for Sidewinder

I know, which is why I’ve created the report.

Im guessing its one of those “in peace-time its not done, but could easily be done in war” situations.

Many upgrades and changes occur when aircraft go from a peace footing to one of war. See it with aircraft like the Sea Harriers going to the Falklands or the Tornados deploying in OP Granby.

We wont get 8 120s as that invalidates the F-15E

Typhoon is not in game to be the best at BVR and WVR it’s designed to be somewhere in between sadly with it’s terrible Radar and sensors in general

It’s neither great in BVR or WVR

do we play the same game?

Yes in ground RB when the meta shifts to flying low the Typhoons Radar ruins it’s efficacy.

Your Aim120 is far less effective as everyone is multipathing already and the Aim9M is easily defeated now.

You cant dogfight as the SAMS will pluck you out of the sky and then we have the Brimstone which is fine but needs a good map and requires far more mental input.

Yes in Air RB there are 16 other jets to shoot and you are high and fast you can struggle with the Radar in BVR, WVR in Air Rb is is also good, again you are not using MICAS but Aim9M.

It’s a great and in a guns only fight you would win 90% of bouts. Sadly the sensors and the lack of sensor fusion modelled in game makes it much harder to fly than it should be.

Radar TWS mode and not detecting threats.
MAWS reacting to everything that isn’t a missile
An RWR that is too detailed while providing incorrect information regarding the position of the threat or missile.

It needed more time to be refined

I havent played air for a while now and was wondering what changes they made to the EF, could someone tell me what changes happened to the EF since like Christmas. Thanks.

HMD lock is far batter
TWS is still hilariously bad (like locking the ground and not the jet flying above it)
Radar does detect threats better but still not great and some scan patterns have had vertical detection nerfed.

spoiler, the (nerf) was so small you wont notice it…

Which shows how bad the Radar is, the Rafale and F-15E do not have this problem, the Rafale and F-15E see everything the Typhoon is like flying around in the dark with a torch

not realy…
this shows how small the nerf was…

This is what we are dealing with Radar through DL sent my Aim120 into the ground when launched above on a Helicopter. There are 100s of examples of this Radar just not being good enough.

i dont know what you try to prove… I never said that the radar is not dogshit…

Fair, it’s so frustrating

The radar sucks dogshit, i dont think anyone unless they are maliciously lying is defending that. Personally in ground RB the only way that i found the radar to work semi reliably is to set it to 20 degree width in TWS.

I kinda disagree saying the AMRAAMs are less effective because they are working pretty well plus if you arc them they often manage to actually hit even a target in multipath.
In my typhoon i often tend to do CAP more than CAS just due to the high amount of AH64s, Ka50/52s, F15E/Is and Su34s spawns.
For the most part the Typhoon is very effective at CAP, and atleast with TWS in the 20 degree width you can somewhat scan out where the enemy plane is that has just spawned.
Its not perfect or ideal, the small width massively limits your ability to spot a target compared to something like an F15, but it works for the most part (there have been few times where i did die just because i couldnt locate the thing that was pinging my RWR only for them to pop up behind me and i get R73’d).

I do agree that other nations have easier time to do CAS based purely on the fact that typhoons only standoff munitions are basically LJDAMs or Paveways using GNSS, but its not completely impossible to deal with SAMs, it does require lot more care than popping up, throwing a mav or hammer and popping back down. (In case of Su34/SM3, they dont even need to pop down anyway since they already outrange all NATO SPAAs.)

I hope that eventually we will have a capable CAPTOR radar which can update well in 60 degree width so that its going to be able to detect threats quicker and easier.
