Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

I mean, its gaijins stated issue. Theres ways around it such as my Barracuda MCS proposal, and multispectral smoke. Its also a bit of a debatable point imo. Tanks dont have radars to warn them of incoming PGM’s, and unless they spot the smoke trail and correctly deduce the PGM is coming at them specifically, its unlikely they’ll react on time for smoke to save them…

Yes, however… it would be funny

Yeah, 99% of the time, people wouldnt smoke or react even if they had a defence.

Yeah, it would :D

Especially if it got its [mode 3] lock-on-after-launch mode.

Brimstone modes of operation

Essentially, the Brimstones can be pre-programmed with a set of targets and then fired into a general area, they will use their on-board radars to search for and find said targets, communicating with each other to take out a target each. On-approach they’ll aim for the weakest spot on the target. Meaning you could fire a volley from behind a hill or at tree-top level and just wipe out the enemy team.

Looks a little like this;

Theres a video some non-defined amount of time ago, somewhere non-descript where a column of an undefined nations tanks get smaked all near simultaneously which iirc was attributed to ground launched Brimstones. Was a beauty to see.

Its not really flying to the target point, its just using IOG to fly in the rough direction of the target point, which is fine as you laser guide it in for the terminal part of its flight (so it will correct its path)

Is there any news on Brimstones getting proxy fuse?

thats a lil bit different from the yak141 dont you think

Nice, that one was accepted @Flame2512.

Well now lets hope gaijin is capable of doing something like this. They should have tech mainly because of aesa and pesa should be capable of it too.

Pantsir track radar scans 90x90 zone 20 times a second, so no problem there

Scan speed whatever, what i care about is the priority track - jumping off the scan area to update track.

Scan speed and the associated volumetric scan rate are much more important than priority track in WT. P-track would be cool, but id rather have a radar i dont have to fight to find targets with.

priority track works even outside amraam guidance, its pretty big thing to be able to designate 6 things flying low/high and then scan with radar higl/low

Given P-Track isnt a thing I beleive has been previously modeled, the first step should just be to get the radar as good as it can be in conventional modes and then get P-track sorted later.

Given the amount of time Gaijin takes to add specialist features to aircraft, Id rather spend the next 2 years with a bloody good radar than to have a placeholder waiting for P-Track to be modeled.

CAPTOR’s refresh rate should still be high regardless of ptrack. Ptrack should just provide aesa like refresh rate on tracked targets, even tws track.

Can’t wait for the esm update, and for all top tier fighters being able to range and track aircraft only from radar signals

Ofc it should, ptrack supports it even more that this radar should be quick as early pesa radars or just slightly slower.
