The last produced batch of AIM-9L’s would have been equipped with the reduced smoke motor, it was not limited to the AIM-9M. That being said, all AIM-9M production was with the reduced smoke motor.
It does happen to be their game. The only real issue with this is that they give us excuses and pretend we’re stupid when we can see right through their nonsense.
More that they make the false promise they’ll fix things if provided with sufficient evidence. Which they sometimes do to be fair. Most of the time they just leave the player base wanting because they simply don’t want to put in the dev time to fix half of it. Or they move the goalpost on what is or isn’t evidence. Or they just flat out say “we do what we want in spite of your evidence.”

As an example, the F-5A/E and F-20 are incorrectly configured because Gaijin is trusting tertiary collection sources that predate the Soviet capture of the F-5E over the NATOPS. In-game the F-5E outperforms the real life F-20, and subsequently the F-20 significantly overperforms. They simply stated they “believe” the tertiary documents more than the NATOPs and for the F-5A they state that they “think” the NATOPS is not accurate.
What do you think they will say when evidence is procured for the Typhoon to carry additional AMRAAMs?

Will the Eurofighter be set up, what would be shown when capturing a light or hard target where you need to put your nose so that the plane would be visible on the ILS?

software is merely there to limit the flight performance to within the flight envelope

The problem is that it shouldn’t be under consideration, it should be in the game. Copy and paste the AIM-9M, give it the skin of the AIM-9L/I, and add “-1” to the skin, and boom, AIM-9L/I-1.
