Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

Yes better, to my knowledge Mk.2 introduces some more capabilities compared to the Mk.1, overall it’s a bit secretive but it is significantly better when it comes to electronic warfare that’s why Germany currently is considering it for the ECR Variant of the EF

To bring this back on a constructive discussion track:
Gajin seems to have drastically nerfed the acceleration

Germany is currently preparing for a MLU upgrade of the Mk.1 which will include all of Mk.2s capabilites, just built ‘at home’. It will also be applied to Mk.1 radars of Tranche 4 EFTs they’re procuring and future T5s.

I find it funny how to German ef is getting no pirate at all, even though it is still far more realistic than the f16aj or the aim-9j or r27er, and the UK and Italy get jas 39 added to their tree to make sure they don’t suffer too much. It is very frustrating and feels almost like bias.

Can we please drop it now? We keep re opening the subject

the F4F used 9J in trials and was added prior to 9L

A simple missile that would not need a modification to use

british is a sub tree theyve had for years and italy is also from a sub tree they got because it was the least played nation

PIRATE is a modification to an aircraft, mostly the installation i assume but more than everything else considerably

Shouldnt you be ableto see friendlies in the HMD of the Eurofighter just like the Rafale or the A-10C?

The inlet is irrelevant to the point, how it slows air down to subsonic before it enters the engine and the bypass area does not matter. This will result in intake losses but that is not what is being discussed. What is being discussed is as simple as comparing a straight wing with a swept one, obviously the swept wing will have lower drag and a smaller bypass ratio will have better exhaust velocity and lower required pressure ratio to achieve it.

In supersonic flight there is no good mechanism for causing shockwaves in the intake except for the specific way it is shaped / curved. This will always be far less efficient than having a purposefully developed intake ramp and thus intake losses can be expected to be higher than something like the Su-27’s intake design. That being said, it is likely optimized for 1.8 mach as that was the envelope specification for afterburning fuel efficiency range.

Since the Eurofighter had specific specifications that must have been met for the EJ200 in regards to afterburning fuel efficiency, they had to utilize a 0.4 bypass ratio. This gave them far more bypass air to feed the afterburner and greatly improved the afterburning efficiency of the turbofan. This came at the cost of supercruise performance and efficiency as the core would have to work that much harder to increase the exhaust velocity as it mixes with 40% of the intake air at subsonic speeds once it reaches the nozzle. This is also why they went with the convergent-divergent nozzle, to improve exhaust velocity and afterburner efficiency.

definitely takes longer to reach mach 2 now

they accepted this garbage?

you’re kidding! Please I was excited to finally get to use Brimstones too…

I recall someone saying this doesn’t mean it will be removed (yet)

Cyrillic gamertag = auto accept

Best part is that we’ve made a “counter-report” showing that the German EFT should be a T3A (as such it would 150% be Brim capable):

Of course, it has not been accepted, even after some of us pinged Smin to please forward it.

If they eventually decide that Germany can only get ipa7 due to this, I hope ipa7 gets added as a modification to a future aesa EF or as a modification, just not as an event vehicle or premium.

Lol, its been accepted and forwarded as a suggestion now, just a couple minutes after your comment.

Needs to be at least a 151% chance it would be compatible though :P
