I’m going to start this off by saying that I havent played in a little bit, but I was playing a few top tier aircraft just to get back in and had no problems with them
Other than the Eurofighter
I find the radar’s TWS is horrible and cant maintain a soft lock, making launching AIM-120S harder but not impossible
Does anyone else have this problem?
I also see that the AIM-120C-5 was added to the 14.0’s
It should be an upgrade right, but I feel like its a side or even downgrade, it feels slower and feels like it dosnt pull as hard, I’m pretty sure the second one is because of the clipped wings.
Everything in this game that American made is sub-par i’d even go as far as saying the that the implementation of the aim 120C-5 is worst than the other missiles.

Its not only EURO, F/A-18 and F-15E TWS are broken too. It didnt track target correctly, But when use AIM-120B its work normal. I think its bug too.
AIM-120C5s are more of a sidegrade to the Bs.
Eurofigher radar is completely cooked since release and nothing has been done so far.

People reports that C5 is actually worse than previous amraams

Yes, this is everyone. The radar is broken and the devs dont care. I’ve not touched it properly in months and even with the Aim-120C5s. I dont see any reason to change that following this major update. In fact, with the GNSS nerfs. I see even less reason to play it in ASB.
Its only really an upgrade for medium to long range shots. Which are so easy to defeat, that you will never actually be firing them at.
Should probably be better in performance with improved guidance kit. But otherwise should be equal. Though Gaijin appears to have made them worse than most SARH missile in how they handle.

Been also having issues with the MiG-29 SMTs radar in TWS mode as well it does like to live it own life sometimes
All radars are broken. Most radars are wrongly modelled and devs don’t want to fix them based on bug reports.
The C-5 is as good or worse than the AIM-120B. Again, all bug reports on it pretty much got ignored. There are no or very little official sources on those. I wonder how will gaijin devs model the Meteor or the AIM-120D. Maybe they will have the same seeker as the AIM-120A lmao.
But ive had no problems with the F18 F16 F15 Su30sm Rafale M2K J-10, J-11B, Gripen etc, just the euro
yea it feels the same as when it was first added
ok thanks, but for closer the B is better?
ive always like the SMT’s radar its slower but holds lock well at the narrow scan which is more than enough, also the almost 90 degree off bore is very nice
knowing gaijin, most likely this will happen, or somehow they would make it worse

It’s a little bit slower compared to its competitors but I still can’t explain the issues of it locking non existent objects in TWS where there has been no planes near
IMO 120cs are good rn
But…
They are supposed to smokeless
And have more range
yes <=20km the a hits first and that whilst being significantly more maneuverable.
the only thing about aim120c5 is that it retains more energy in hobs, but thats because it can barely turn.
i dunno lol, imagine if it turns even less whilst still being a smoke motor with 2 second extra burn lol.
irl r-77-1 is considered an equal to late aim120cs, ingame it completely outclasses them.

Uh… Slight better time to target I think? and accelerates much faster off the rails iirc. So for short range “WVR ranges” then the B might be better.
But at short to medium ranges then the C5s might have the slight advantage with haivng more energy
But I’ve been playing ARB in the EFT the last few days and using the C5s. They feel identical at short ranges but the LSZs at medium to long ranges is better (though the display might be a bit bugged). and whislt long ranged kills are rare. There is always an F-15 player (and its almost always a US F-15C or F15E :P ) that doesnt try to defend or defends badly.
For my playstyle, I think C5s are a bit better for me.
