Hello you handsome devils and also Yak-3U pilots.
Is anyone else getting somewhat irked by the “escort the bombers!” missions in EC basically gifting the win to the other team? No objective should be destined to fail like this is.
To those that don’t know unlike every other objective in the game (barring bases for obvious reasons) the bombers never go away until they’re shot down. They’ll just circle in the centre of the map for eternity doing zero actual bombing becoming free points for the other team. There’s tons of targets they could attack of course but they’d much rather chase each other’s tails and await death/become free points for the other team instead.
The issue arises when it’s a close match and one side repeatedly gets gifted suicidal useless bombers whilst the other team only gets “destroy the convoy” A convoy that’s armed with death cannons that snipe you instantly before you get into engagement range. After a while you can’t be blamed for feeling like the game is rigging itself against you. At least the surveillance aircraft sods off after a while giving you a chance to deny the enemy team those vital points.
Also am I going mad or did the bombers actually used to bomb mini-bases and then fly out of the battle zone, why the hell did they change that to this new unwinnable mission they’ve become now?
