And now we look at the Battle of the Bulge and why the Allied were not able to support their units with proper air support during the start of the German assault.
I think I more than know how to fly. I can even perform full IMC/IFR landings with the right cockpit instrumentations in the appropriate flight sim.
I still don’t like people hiding in clouds blocking an A-point capture with no way to get them to leave. Not even playing bait and slowing down seems to entice them (not that they can see anything from it).
Clouds when sufficiently sparse and spread out that using them does not interfere with basic gameplay elements? Fun! I’ll use them to disengage, ambush or sneak past enemies.
But having a thick ass cloud cover the entire sector the air superiority objective in is neither fun nor enthralling.
Lots of fun flying circles in a sector you cannot capture, searching above and below the cloud cover and wasting a good 10-15 minutes of your time looking for an invisible enemy that isn’t threatening anyone.
Don’t know about air but I enjoyed the thiccc cloud in ground battles since I hate CAS, first I would imagine it’s harder to fly in there as it reduces the visibility for pilots and they are force to fly lower so more vulnerable to ground units attack, second is darker maps easier for my eyes. Only thing I didn’t like is I can’t seem to radar lock planes behind thiccc clouds.
