Eliminate Encounter and Conquest Naval maps

Don’t be disingenuous.

They called me many things but never a liar.

Don’t say words in an attempt to sound smart; What you just said has nothing to do with victim mentality and everything to do with laziness.

Adding usable cover in maps benefits literally everyone. The issue is when it becomes a chokepoint.

You mean smoke curtains that work when they feel like it?

Disingenuity is dishonesty all the same.

Agreed, I was trying to make that point after all. But, thank you!

Uh, are you addressing the same person, or me directly?

Smoke curtains work well as is. You’re never meant to be invincible. Parry, I think it’s best that I announce this before you misinterpret my intentions. I think you completely misunderstand me.

I want to iterate this clearly…

I’m not in favour of removing fixed map assets or features. I made the mistake of not referencing Naval EC, and when you mentioned chokepoints, I thought you were referencing the tendency for battleships to rush and spawn camp ports in Naval EC. There’s very little strategy in that. Especially when mines can now despawn across the board, EC included. And how planes have a steep sp cost in EC, there’s very little we could do to counter them, without having to spawn battleship ourselves and the sp needed for it.

It’s a battle of who can spawn heavies first, and AA is misleadingly pinpoint accurate in EC. Combined with the fact that it takes multiple AP bombs to sink just one there’s very little odds of resisting when we don’t have enough battleships in the team. - I’m sure you could understand…

In fact, the suggestion I made on (fogs, waves, night) is exactly to address those concerns, in the context of EC. I was blissfully unaware of what Encounter and Conquest are, and I thought they were referring to enduring modes. I only played naval for the joy of open maps, realism and prolonged battles.

But I digress, it’s completely rational to say that these features are not needed in AB or RB, they are way too short, small, and the matches can be suffocating imo. Battleships should be played in EC, there they should face the challenge of open ocean, waves, fog, and darkness. Along with the threats of mines, PT boats and torps to counter their devastation (which is why mines shouldn’t have been tweaked to despawn in EC). - It’s perfectly fine to balance and despawn it in AB/RB matches that last a mere 15 min.

Battleships shouldn’t be coddled with a special open-ocean map in naval AB/RB…

I hope you understand, all I want is for the devs to bring some quality of life improvements to naval ec

Chokepoints

On the issue of chokepoints on naval AB/RB, I don’t have an opinion on that. I don’t have enough interest in them to make a fair judgment, but I really do hope they will continue to polish it, and hopefully pay a little more attention to naval EC, there’s a lot of us that plays naval for the joy of EC and we’d love for it to be a permanent mode, especially their realistic and simulator variant. And a little quality of life improvement in Naval EC would be life-changing for us.

As of currently, battleships continue to exploit the advantage of tweaked despawning mines, we can no longer minelay and defend our ports effectively against heavies in EC as they would disappear when we need them the most.

Apologies for the wall of texts…

The part below where I quoted you is directly towards you, the part before it was replying to someone else.

I dont need to attempt

Well, not everyone at the same time. Neither the enemy who can’t target you anymore nor your team mates out in the open who now get targeted instead will share your joy about sitting snugly behind an island.

Yes, camping can become an issue. A simple solution would to make it tall enough so you can’t fire over it.
