Eliminate Encounter and Conquest Naval maps

Limit encounter maps to 6.0+

Getting Encounter maps when your max BR is too low for at least Heavy Cruisers is miserable.

A 5.3 Destroyer and pre-war Light Cruiser lineup has nothing to do but get blasted off the planet on these maps.

encounters are big circles ? if so these maps should be removed from all brs they stink
no skill just who has better boat on these maps no manuevering or anything no strategy

No I had encounter and it was circle, I think you’re getting them backwards

And I am talking about big circle. BUT convoy too. Encounter AND Conquest. Sooooo. Yes to both; limit both.

So, to clarify:

Both need to be limited to 6.0+

Forget limit. Eliminate them entirely. I genuinely believe that gaijin looks at incompetence as a treasured character trait when hiring for their naval design teams

Well I love Encounter but hate Conquest. At least as even domination mode is not well designed(too heavily rely on boat to capture), I think encounter mode should be main mode with some modification.

Probably 6.3 or even 6.7+ for some Destroyers at 5.3.

What I mean is, don’t let anything under 6.0 on those maps.

5.3 DDs have nothing to do but be easy meat.

Last time I was using Z47 and enter a map with 20KM battle range, before I reached to the B point, the game was over because there was a boat cap the point, lmao

To be perfectly honest, I’d rather they finally make different versions for each BR.

I thoroughly enjoy both at low BR’s, I’d wish they would return to as low as 4.0 like they were years ago.

Also for Encounter, like the original version, remove the cruiser Admiral Hipper & replace it with the cruiser Emden, remove the extra Emden & replace them with further torpedo boats T22 or further SS Goldenfels (the merchant ship).

Heh an conquest, well they’re basically just played like domination maps.

The notoriously lazy brain dead giant circle maps, in addition to over compression up tier are killing the game. Seriously, what if ground matches were nothing but an open tree-less field where everyone was in a big circle shooting at each other?

There are many interesting island maps with cover and cap points. These giant lazy circles where everyone has a Soyez are boring, stupid, unfair, and just absolutely slovenly in terms of creativity. Even a gimmicky cartoonish bad game like WoW has better maps, and that’s a really low bar.

Yep, the Conquests maps need to go, the open water ones especially as they are basically just a case of who can land rounds first, but even the half decent ones with islands, can be terribly unbalanced

oh yeah i agree but last time i suggested it someone said it would buff germany so i dropped it because the naval community isnt worth it none of them speak objectively about boats especially the american mains

IRL engagements for example bismarck and HMS hood and POW the engagement only landed a killing blow at 9 MILES dread noughts at jutland shooting at 6.5 miles

so bigger maps are a no go as they just benefit the person with the best guns and armor what should be made are 1-10 mile maps with islands like

what we need are CQC maps basically for naval with lots of cover to manuver close and actually use naval tatics instead of just playing the 2 most skilless 8.7s like IOWA or SOYUZ or the undertiered dakota

The battle of the Moon Sound (1917) hat initial engagement distances around 11.4 miles. Russians modified Slava’s turrets for extra elevation/range. So they could temporarily outrange SMS Konig and Kronprinz. Lethal hits on Slava happened at 10 mi distance.

At Jutland, HMS Warspite achieved a hit at 11 miles with max gun elevation. General opening distance around 10 mi for both fleets.

So it was possible to actually wreck ships at 10mi standoff distance. Even with Great War rangefinding tech. 6.5 is too low of an estimate.
