It seems that gaijin has forgotten that there are folders for vehicles that are different but not enough to justify investigating them in their entirety again.
The new EFs are identical in everything except the new AESA radar, the only thing that changes from the one we already have is that it has 2 more AIM-120s, BUT the current one also receives this update on the dev server.
So I don’t see the point in having to research the same plane a second time (420,000 RP), they should be in the same folder.
@Morvran I didn’t want to be right, but I told you the Typhoon update was gonna be a complete nothing burger. Gaijin is so out of touch, 420k RP for just a radar change.
CAPTOR-E + 2x more AMRAAM is exactly what the Typhoon has needed.
Just did a match and my god, having those extra AMRAAM is lovely.
Im hoping we can get more out of this update though
The grind is annoying, but its clearly setting the stage for ASRAAM/IRIS-T and/or Meteor sooner rather than later. It does mean we can do the bulk of the grind for that aircraft before they arrive, so when they do, we can hit the ground running.
Though a shame about the lack of bug reports that have been fixed. Especially BOL
Maybe for AirRB, but the Typhoon being limited to mostly a CAP role in GroundRB is still pretty garbage with how the game is currently played. Its still not enough to justify not having any IR guided munitions.
There is actually a photo somewhere of an italian Typhoon with both equipped at the same time, but that is such a balancing nightmare that I think they should be limited to just one

I think they’ll limit it to just one tbf. Italy isn’t known for slinging ASRAAMs around (even if they could technically carry it, iirc all eurofighters have that capability to carry pretty much anything the others can)
Maybe in the future they will folder them, but they rarely do it upon the introduction, so people spend more time in the game researching new stuff even if the difference between models isn’t big.
I’m honestly not much interested in high tier aviation, haven’t even touched F-2000A yet, researched it quite long ago, but purchased only during discounts, same with Tornado RET.8 (this one is foldered though btw). Seeking for more WW2/Interwar Italian planes + subsonic jets, unfortunately Gaijin adds them once in a blue moon or when some user decides to model something for Italian TT by himself.
