I believe both Belgium Jets (AKA Waffle Nation), both the Block 15 and Block 15 MLU carried the BOL pods but in the prospect where both jets had the capability to also carry either AIM-120’s and/or AIM-9’s on the 2nd inner pylons with the countermeasure pods (I believe its pylons 3 and 8). So curious when Gaijin will give both French/Belgian F-16A’s the capability to carry BOL’s with their missiles instead of having to sacrifice a missile for a BOL pod, which you shouldn’t, most of the ground ordinance is already attached to the CM BOL pods, and since they did IRL, I would give both the A and AM the capability to carry the missiles and pods together, and again, without having to sacrifice either or in the next in game mechanism update or so.
Feel like I’m late for the party.
For now, the Dutch/Belgian subtree has been implemented in the French main tree for a year. The Belgian Blk15 MLU seems to be completely overlapping with the Dutch counterpart in terms of in-game performance and positioning, so I feel it might be hard to insert another Dutch version of Blk15 MLU directly into the main BE/NL subtree, unless Gaijin decides to give it something more advanced like AIM-9X and put it at a higher BR than the Belgian Blk15 MLU (Like how the DDR MiG-29A 9.12 and MiG-29G is differentiated in game: The G variant has R-73 while the vanilla 9.12A doesn’t, which led to two different BRs, even if irl the 9.12A can fire the R-73).
Still, I sense that it might still be possible for the Dutch version to appear as an event vehicle? Anyway, I would be very happy to see many awesome Dutch F-16 liveries appear on the correct aircraft model.
I believe that a Dutch variant with better AIM-120’s and AIM-9X’s would be more than likely as a newer top tier addition, although it would lack the double layer MAWS of the Belgian one.
Hi @Smin1080p_WT, I wanted to ask if you could give a nudge on the accepted report for the F-16AM not having a functional radar HMD despite having JHMCS modelled in game for it.
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/KnIyNirQXpAX
Been a long while since it was accepted and no action has been taken to remedy it so far. Hoping that you can help, cheers.
I guess after today’s update, we’ll never see this aircraft added. With Belgium receiving its second F-16AM MLU, there likely isn’t any room left for later Dutch F-16 variants to make it into the game.
It seems that Dutch players are going to be stuck with an F-16 in a 1970s-era configuration.
This has been changed.
Wonderful news for Chile! We operate this exact aircraft that the Netherlands sold us some years ago. Now that I think about it, they could create a Chilean historical camouflage livery for this aircraft once it’s released in the game.
They could add a camouflage pattern that includes this special insignia commemorating the second batch they sent to Chile.
There is also this other variant that has the Peace Amstel II insignia.
I might not agree gajin change to RNLAF operated instead Belgian
Or change to two-seat variant Dutch F-16ABM (2001 config era) ?
I don’t understand what you mean?
You don’t agree to the BAF F-16AM Block 20 (M2 Tape at least) being changed to a Dutch F-16AM Block 15 (most modern Dutch one)?
Although it will be worse in some aspects to the Belgian one, it will give more opportunities for skins as well, and represent the modern RNLAF.
Man, you already have three Belgian F-16s, why do you need another one? Give the Netherlands some space too.
Or I hope gajin change RNLAF F-16BM MLU (two-seat model) instead single-seat
How does this one compare to the Belgian F-16AM it got replaced? Does it get HMD?
How will it be worse (or just different in general) compared to the TT Belgian F-16A MLU we already have?
Worse radar (FOKKER APG-66(V)2A )
Worse RWR
No MAWS
No PIDS+ or PIDS
Should historically not get GBU-39 or JDAM/LDAM as the Dutch did not use such a modern Tape variant (but they did use the GBU-39 on the OCU).
No HMD (Belgian only), but JHMCS was in service, so possibly?
But that’s all unconfirmed for now, Gaijin could choose to create an ahistorical one.
And as said by Smin1080p the missiles will stay the same:
Welp, here I am, just wanting to get a nice 13.7 premium to play sim alongside the other modes. Not happening now
i thought we did use gbu-39? https://media.defense.gov/2024/Dec/09/2003604300/-1/-1/0/NETHERLANDS_10-32_0.PDF
It was reportedly part of an intended purchase around 2010, well before the introduction of the F-35, but I am not entirely sure whether this acquisition was ultimately completed.
Regarding avionics, Dutch F-16s did not use the Scorpion HMD, but they did use the JHMCS, which also provides helmet-mounted targeting capability to my knowledge.
That said, both aircraft would still perform roughly 90 percent the same, as the differences are relatively minor in practice, although the Belgian variants are indeed slightly more advanced in some respects.
It will still be a very decent 13.7 F-16AM, just not the best one at 13.7 anymore.
i would rather want it to stay a single seater as i like the single seat f-16 design much more,
and it would handicap performance for no real good reason.
