Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

Gaps for thee and not for me.

I already showed you what the gaps are in the American tree and you said that to correct those gaps would mean that we would also have to correct gaps in the Russian tree, which as i have demonstrated, and you argue, is already being done with the justification that those gaps exist in other trees. There is no reason to fill the Italian and French trees with leopards when they already have mbts, and then turn around and say that America should not get a subtree to fill gaps in its current capabilities.

No point in arguing with you anymore if you cant be consistent. I dont care if Gaijin adds copy-paste vehicles or not to separate trees- that can of worms has already been opened. However, all nations should be on an even playing field. If the only justification is “they didnt have it and its unfair that they dont get it, so lets add it anyway,” then there is no reason that the US cant get an algerian pantsir. It’s already been done with all the leopards and abrams everywhere.

Oh boy, here I go defending USA again.

USA doesn’t need Pantsir, they have AIM-9X carrying vehicles that will function against helicopters once Gaijin finishes LDIRCM programming.

You don’t want Kh-38MT; when Gaijin adds LOAL, Kh-38MT’s lock range will drop to 1.5km from its current ~14km [identical to AGM-65D/G], and if Gaijin adds in the mechanic that they actually use, you’ll never get to see through the seeker of Kh-38MT, and instead have to select a target from a drop down menu for it to seek out.

There are barely any copy-paste American vehicles in other tech trees.
The only copy-paste Abrams in-game is the SEP V3.
Leopard 2A4s are probably the only copy-paste Leopard 2s.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

There’s like 17 of them in the German tech tree alone, and I’m pretty sure that’s not even the highest count for one tech tree having American vehicles in it either.

Now I am by definition including any vehicle that doesn’t have a major difference as a copy paste vehicle such as vastly new capabilities or design.

For example the layout on the type 90 and its playstyle due to the autoloader is massively different from the leo2a4 therefor it isnt a copy paste, however for all intents and purposes the finnish 2a6 is a copy paste vehicle its the same thing as a german 2a6 in different colors and on the same note the same applies for the 2a7hu and 2a7V they play exactly the same one just has a .50cal on it which at top tier doesn’t at all change gameplay.

“Major” is a subjective word.
When addressing an objective standard of “copy-paste” [literally a computer function], you must not introduce subjective standards.

3D modelers are still creating a new model if it has changes.

Also, your post is insinuating that Leclerc is copy-paste of M1A1 because they play identically.

I’ve created a thread in the suggestion category for something like this. Lets see if its ever going to see the light of the day ^^

Copy paste needed: Tech Tree F-14D for USA
Unique needed: Pereh Spike Launcher for Israel

The lamest and laziest thing I’ve read today. Ahh yes lets keep piling shit in to “fill the gaps” until the actually cool things you want are added. Btw were never removing the copy paste shit so the grind is gonna just keep getting worse and worse. The grind is already so bad that any sane person just buys a premium high tier and grinds out the whole tree with it. That’s besides the fact that you could just do what you did for Israel and just give tanks extra spawns, but that’s probably too hard for Gemini to do for all the trees so not sure about that one. All of this while asking for $80 non unique top tier jets. Quote “we don’t want our players buying their way to the top” by the way. Your excuse of “well they’re not rank 9” is utter bullshit there’s very little functional difference between many rank 8 and 9 jets. Its all such a thinly vied attempt to squeeze every cent you can out of the player base and sadly it works. There’s no competition for you and therefore no incentive to improve but let me tell you Gaijin time is running out.

Go back and fix the many vehicles that ALREADY exist in game and are poorly modeled or just bugged. PLEASE get over the need for 50 different classified documents to change something for a NATO tank. We get it you like Russia but at the end of the day YOU make the tanks and can make the internals whatever you want in service of better gameplay. Stop adding features that no one asked for that somehow break wheels (Seriously? Do we not test anymore?). You could instead add things that A LOT of people asked for like better and more interesting game modes and better maps. The map design is atrocious and I don’t understand how that’s not a main focus. Why not let players design reward earing modes and maps if you’re too lazy? That’s free infinite content for the game. The game has so much potential and its such a shame you refuse to capitalize on it. Just slow down and work on some foundational things before adding 20 stories. You say you’re listening to the player base but I’m not sure which one that is because it sure doesn’t seem to be the majority. Why not stick to your word for once and do better.

Thank you for saying this. I wanted to say something like this, but I figured it was too unpopular of stance.
I get that players want to have their cake and eat it too, so to speak, in regards to getting to research both domestic and copypaste vehicles, but I’ve felt the damage the latter brings to the uniqueness of each tree just by occupying space in it isn’t necessary. If current trends continue, I think we’d be better off just transitioning to an international tree research system and allowing fully mixed line-ups.

There’s plenty of competition… I don’t think you realize “bad” competitors are still competitors.

Adding foundational things takes years of time, they’ll develop them when able.
Premium account is better than a premium vehicle for grind, you play more vehicles, get the same research bonus as a premium vehicle, and you get bonus spading research on top of that.

The fact you’re complaining that premiums aren’t unique is… something.
Premiums shouldn’t be unique vehicles. At most they can be unique variant of the same exact vehicle in tech trees, but premiums should primarily be copy-paste.
Unique stuff should be more accessible to people that just play the game.

Oh really.
Well, I guess this is still operational cause last I recalled, capturing just means obtaining it, no matter the state it is in.
Does this look Operational to you?

They’ve captured operational ones too. They have even sent 2a4s to north Korea

Which have been stripped of all materials. That would make them true Abrams Tanks.
Were viewed by the Russians as inferior. Due to it being a manual loader. As we intended, since these are old models. That has no packaging and was mothballed. In the Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas Deserts.

Also, just because it can run does not necessarily mean it’s combat capable. It could function and drive, but the difference is whether it can still fight in combat, and the result is no, it cannot. As parts and such of the vehicle were destroyed when it was disabled. Either by its barely alive crew or by any 2ndary detonation. If neither were the case, then much would still need to be supplemented by Russian Equipment, rewired to be compatible with said platform, and rebored.

Even then, because it’s a manual loader, it isn’t at all likely it would be used irl nor by players. Cause Soviet Players have gotten used to->Autoloaders. So seeing a vehicle that slowly reloads as the Abrams would is both a learning curve that the majority will not bother with.

They are still Abrams no matter how you put it lmao

Well not quite they liked alot of aspects of the Abrams and Leopards but they are 2 very different tanks with 2 different doctrines ofc they don’t fit

Good think the Russians never intended on putting Abrams into service they’ll only be used for evaluations and propaganda

not to mention as you stated its a earlier version, i believe a M1A1 SA (missing up-armored DU inserts), so all it would have inside would be modern (ish) electronics and sights that’s about it besides ammunition, of which there’s another photo of this tank with what looks like a either a sabo hole or a heat jet hole going through the ammo compartments so they wouldn’t have been able to recover much of that, something akin to taking the M1A2s digital upgrades and CITVs, blueforce tracker and stuff like that and slapping it into a basic M1A1 hull and turret, as with export SAs the DU is swapped out with a different heavy composet set, although this one seems to be missing the CITV

A husk of one sure. But nothing that makes the Abrams actually an Abrams.
The hull of an Abrams is now comparable to the XM-1. With a different shade of paint.

Your clueless. The Abrams Ukraine got were still Abrams although a few generations old they are still the same tank lmao
