Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

They’ve captured operational ones too. They have even sent 2a4s to north Korea

Which have been stripped of all materials. That would make them true Abrams Tanks.
Were viewed by the Russians as inferior. Due to it being a manual loader. As we intended, since these are old models. That has no packaging and was mothballed. In the Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas Deserts.

Also, just because it can run does not necessarily mean it’s combat capable. It could function and drive, but the difference is whether it can still fight in combat, and the result is no, it cannot. As parts and such of the vehicle were destroyed when it was disabled. Either by its barely alive crew or by any 2ndary detonation. If neither were the case, then much would still need to be supplemented by Russian Equipment, rewired to be compatible with said platform, and rebored.

Even then, because it’s a manual loader, it isn’t at all likely it would be used irl nor by players. Cause Soviet Players have gotten used to->Autoloaders. So seeing a vehicle that slowly reloads as the Abrams would is both a learning curve that the majority will not bother with.

They are still Abrams no matter how you put it lmao

Well not quite they liked alot of aspects of the Abrams and Leopards but they are 2 very different tanks with 2 different doctrines ofc they don’t fit

Good think the Russians never intended on putting Abrams into service they’ll only be used for evaluations and propaganda

not to mention as you stated its a earlier version, i believe a M1A1 SA (missing up-armored DU inserts), so all it would have inside would be modern (ish) electronics and sights that’s about it besides ammunition, of which there’s another photo of this tank with what looks like a either a sabo hole or a heat jet hole going through the ammo compartments so they wouldn’t have been able to recover much of that, something akin to taking the M1A2s digital upgrades and CITVs, blueforce tracker and stuff like that and slapping it into a basic M1A1 hull and turret, as with export SAs the DU is swapped out with a different heavy composet set, although this one seems to be missing the CITV

A husk of one sure. But nothing that makes the Abrams actually an Abrams.
The hull of an Abrams is now comparable to the XM-1. With a different shade of paint.

Your clueless. The Abrams Ukraine got were still Abrams although a few generations old they are still the same tank lmao

Assuming it wasn’t destroyed, but we know it was.

indeed so all that was either shot full of holes via grenades inside, or burnt when the ammo was struck depending if the lodged to ammo door open or not, so there truly is nothing of actual use on the M1A1SA-UKRs left on them

Am I clueless? really.
Cause there is footage of US Personnel with large vehicles, and trains driving rows of Abrams Tanks that have been mothballed for 3 decades, going to a factory to be stripped of more components that are classified.

Before they were sent to that said conflict. Germany did the same thing, and so did several other countries that have a mothballed inventory of equipment. That went to the said conflict.

So, while technically speaking, they have an Abrams, it is no longer combat operational and realistically would make little to no sense to add to the soviet tech tree.
When the vehicle itself would be nothing but a production equivalent of an XM-1. Aka a glass cannon.

They still used incredibly advanced systems fym. Yes ofc america isn’t just handing over their most advanced fcs of the sep v3 or whatever they were fitted or modernized with v1/v2 internals that were dumbed down

to my knowledge, the M1A1s were upgraded as time went on, first the HAs (first gen DU armor), then the HCs (second gen DU), the Ds (upgraded electronics on par with M1A2 SEP 1s only 2 battalions had them though), the AIM V1 brought the FLIRs, and thermals for the .50 (some of these were donated to Ukraine), AIM v2s and base SAs (third gen DU but is swapped out with heavy composites), however this does not guarantee that the base was the older M1A1s, although some were upgraded, others were produced with that version as a base standard

Indeed. Not exactly what I was implying, but you got the idea of what I meant, unlike Leo,

its amazing what even a small amount of background research can do

Indeed.

My god, what has this comment section become?? Did Ya’ll really start bickering about politics and semantics here? Do you think the mods will take this seriously after seeing these 2 guys going at it for like 2 straight days?

Major is a subjective word good thing the words such as followed by a definition for it follows suite my friend.

I will add in a subjective standard because there is going to be a standard on what copy paste is as its not referring to the literal computer function but rather a slang term for two things nearly identical or having little change between them, a usage of slang that exist even outside of the War thunder community but is prevalent in its meaning within the war thunder community and one that you act ignorant of, in order to try and make yourself seem right.

They aren’t really making new models they are taking the old model slapping it into the 3d designer and either adding new camo’s to it or making a slight visually change on the vehicle if they even get that treatment, both of those make it the same vehicle.

My post does not at any point insinuate that the Leclerc and Abrams would be the same as they have different reload speeds, different reload mechanisms, different crew count, different firepower and survivability and far different models from each other.

Alvis if your entire argument every time this gets brought up is to just act ignorant of what the vast majority of the community considers to be a copy paste vehicle and what that term means within the community itself, and instead relegate to its literally meaning of hitting two keyboard shortcut functions then you are just arguing in bad faith and are desperately grasping at straws to prevent yourself from being wrong, instead of just admitting the game has an issue with copy pasting vehicles.

Missing most of its armor packages. Is a Polish tank in terms of the German Variant, meaning parts for it were supplemented and replaced by Polish ones. Also around 32->35 years of age.

M2A2 ODS-SA Operation Desert Storm, Situational Awareness.
A 36-year-old Light tank.

still they have capture dozens of Leos 2A4, bradleys and they are operational, and if gaijin ever gives them to russia i will delete the game, and i am a Russian main that has done the 100% of the Russian ground TT (except the new T-90, i am not doing it until it gets foldered)
