The problem with this justification, if I take the example of the French tree as you did for the leopard and f16, is that you keep adding copy paste after copy paste and completely negate unique variants. France hasn’t had a unique jet since the introduction of the rafale C, with only 2 or 3 very low tier props added in a BR range where they already had variety.
As for ground vehicles, we see a similar pattern. The last unique French vehicle was the EBRC jaguar. When premiums and copy paste are the only thing you get multiple updates in a row (and even worse, when you get nothing), you start wondering if devs actually plan to implement what is in “the plans”, such ask I don’t know, the AMX30C2, or even better, the AMX13-105 (which was in the plan for more than 3 years until the devs apparently accepted defeat and copy pasted the DF105… 3 years late)

Zero mentions of F-14D. Too bad a content farmer and his 40 friends that deliver the exact same content for years, never mentioned a single comment on this topic till this day, state a complete different approach to game’s current problems.
We do not have a copy paste premium issue you (insert swear here). Is F-14D a copy paste? Orao a one? Pucara??? You just set back the rushed premiums hate years back.

Duplicate Vehicles, ehh? If we’re talking actual duplicates, why not add the Artevelde to the french TT over just the Lorelei to Germany? Fuck your one ship, one name rule, all naval players would likely agree on this.

F14D is best option for a prem than being a TT at this point, since it is a somewhat side grade to the F14B

Ok but this is so extremely “when it suits us” that it cant even be taken seriously.
Most perfect example came with this very update when it came to the Hunter AFV.
A vehicle that for Israel does nothing but would have actually been a “progression gap” filling vehicle elsewhere.
Alternatively a better choice for this “progression gap” would have been a better top of the line AESA plane instead like the greek rafale. It does absolutely nothing for anyone to give another spike bushmaster to a nation with 3 of them already, especially when Israel lacks top of the line competitive plane.
literally noone is stopping gaijin from adding both interesting and unique premium vehicle to both the premium line and the tech tree. You guys have done so with JA37DI, it makes no sense to not make the same thing where players have an option to either buy it or grind it. Noone misses out.
Instead some actually interesting vehicles like comanche are stuck behind a paywall while a another copy paste slop gets added to a tech tree.
Problem is when you guys take an already existing vehicle, change one miniscule thing about it or not even at all (helo Puma VJTF) and slap an 80 euro sticker on it. Throw in a camo net to make it all “unique” for the price of a AAA game and a DLC.
Like this is just greed and nothing else.
Really? what suitable solution was there when you guys have added Su30MK2 which is a better Su27SM in GRB at lower BR, it just screams pay to win.

It’s the same situation as the F-4S. Premiums should never be better than their tech tree counterparts, even if only slightly, otherwise its P2W.
The MiG-23ML and MiG-23MLD are a perfect example of how to do premium variants correctly.
What I would have done:
-
Rename F-14B in TT to F-14B(U)
-
Add F-14D after the F-14 folder, put in folder after a few months.

Create an F-14B premium
Problem solved with barely any real changes. But it’s too late now.

It is a great that you brought up F-16 in french tech tree. Now, about that.
Why does the country that has never ever even tested an F-16 (unlike, say, F-15) has 5 of them? You know, now being a tech tree with the most F-16s in the game, more than the biggest producer and operator of them. What exact niche does the 12.3 Block 5 fulfill that absolutely nothing in french tech tree could? Air superiority? We already have 2 mirage 2000s for that. CAS? I suppose you can make an argument about this one. But what about the tech tree 12.7 one? CAS? We already have Mirage 2000D and people rarely get a second flight in CAS in GRB. Air superiority? Mirage 4000 fulfils the pretty much same role. What about the squadron one? CAS? With 2 laser guided AS-30s? Air superiority? But we already have another F-16 and Mirage 4000?
What is the point of giving Japan literally everything? By that logic everyone should get everything so no one will lack anything anywhere. What is the entire point of nation if the same thing can be found in 5 other tech trees if not more? The borders between nations are now barely existent and somehow the nation with the least “imported” vehicles is Israel with only 1 colombian plane…Even though the only unique indigenous plane Israel ever made is…Kfir…sort of indigenous…maybe…about as indigenous as Lavi.

If your solution to weak trees is to just slap copy paste vehicles in all the gaps, just get rid of national trees. The entire point of a national tree is diminished when the tree is made up of 3 or 4 vaguely related countries.

The German already had the leopard premium. The devs could have easily given one of the 3-4 unique stabilized AMX30 prototypes to France instead of the SUPER (amongs which there is the C2).
In the case of the DF105, France had no equivalent and still had not to this day, beside that “new and shiny” DF105
Overall I’d give your take about a 2/10

The plan was to add a premium to France, not to Germany which already had one. They should not have given the Super to Germany, they instead should have given a domestically produced super to France. You are taking the subject from the wrong side

I’m just waiting to see more Japanese tanks with Smoke Dischargers. Or our missing SPAA’s. Hopefully, though,h the G4M1 Cockpit, which I assume is modelled off the G4M3 Cockpit that’s on Display in a museum. Prob not, but it feels a bit incomplete as you look behind, and well… doesn’t seem like you could walk down.
Smin told me it was not in the plans anymore so……
