Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

IMO most premiums should be carbon copies from the TT so that you don’t HAVE to buy a premium to play a certain vehicle. but I’m sorry, the “we don’t have any alternatives that actually belong to the country” reason… there are SO MANY vehicles that could be added instead of copy paste slop. There should at least be a system in place where you get a bigger and bigger RP/SL discount on vehicles if they’re the exact same one, but in a different tech tree. If I’m researching YET ANOTHER leopard tank for a different country, it should be cheaper than the first time.

Like I said, there needs to be a mechansim to add minor nations.
So once you have researched the F-4 Phantom in the USA, you can buy or research or whatever it for greece as well. And then add that minor nation to your NATO lineup in cold-war era battles. Whatever.
So you can fight with France and Greece side-by-side

Y’all are thinking WAY TO MUCH OF THE CURRENT WAY of things.
There needs to be a radical redesign of how countries, battles, and lineups works

So why exactly haven’t we gotten a tech tree f14D and no the f14B is not the tech tree version of the f14D and I’m not the only one who thinks that.

Exactly, if you want a unique premium you should just put a talisman on a tech tree vehicle!

we literaly are complaining that our east german vehicles are missing lol,
those still are our domestic tanks that were used as well

Hope is never lost

thats cool and all but it still contradicts the entirety of this blog post, you talk about it taking time to model the vehicles (I know this because I do this myself) but that doesnt excuse the fact AI is being used to cut corners for copy paste vehicles, its literally a problem, not the AI use its self but the mindset of copy paste + cutting corners then expecting players to just jump at the additions like nothing is wrong

Presumably because people will likely demand the unique stuff takes priority and be added now.

The BT-42 was announced to be coming but wasn’t ready for that update. People complained and we got it an update early.

Talismans are never brought up for some reason and it’s incredibly frustrating to see it being ignored.

For these devs?
Yea idk man…

@Stona_WT , so what now if the feedback goes sour on copy paste and push for more unique vehicles what will happen to sub trees in the future ?

By that logic every Leopard 2 after 2A4 is CnP too

Swiss operated plane. Swiss sub tree

and when Germany will add VTOL aircraft such as the EWR VJ 101 or the VAK 191

This is not the thread for that.

None were armed so never

Talismans don’t boost SL income and that’s the main issue

TBH I am not sure what you mean by “apart from being”?
That’s the thing. It was created by our player (well know from great models). AFAIK all of the models created with revenue share program are outside regular tech tree (If I am in mistake, correct me please with an example).

Germany doesnt need a duplicate T55. If its a uniquely east german modification itd be fine, but not a copy paste.

Your words contradict your actions.

Let’s begin by saying that ut is understandable why there is copy-paste in smaller nations such as Jaoan and Israel. Fine. They have a small domestic industry and instead rely on large manufacturers such as the U.S. to make their arsenals. Okay, but then you take France and fill it up with German vehicles. The French have just as large of a domestic industry as the U.S. They don’t need to copy paste yet another Leopard 2A7. The British don’t need an Abrams. Neither does the Chinese. Hell, the Taiwanese tech tree should’ve been given to Japan instead of China if you wanted to go down the route of your words, but nope, you didn’t even though China has a major domestic arms industry.

Then you go on to talk about premiums. Again, actions contradict words. You add the F-14D, one of the most requested aircraft and the backbone of American naval aviation as a premium. There is nothing peculiarly unique and rare about this vehicle to make it a premium. You could’ve added the F-14A prototype that had AMRAAMS tested on it and that would’ve been fine. Horrible TF-30 engines, AIM-120A which is mid as hell, and AIM-9L’s. Plus no advanced air to ground weaponry. See? That’s an interesting addition that keeps the balance. Could’ve done the Leclerc prototype instead of the Leopard 2 OTcO. Many such cases of more interesting premiums to implement, bur you choose the copy-paste route with the better variant behind the paywall. Like the F-4S being another example. If you want to put premiums as cosmetic variants of tech tree vehicles, hey, that’s a perfectly good route to go.

The bottom line is this. Your words contradict your actions, Gaijin. The truth of the matter is that it resulted in much less work and much less investment to just copy X vehicle across the board than to proruce the new vehicles from scratch or model that variants peculiarities well. What is being said here amounts to little when all it takes is a quick glance at the tech tree.

This is all politics and an attempt at damage control for what is going on lately.

Oh, and PS, not having enough information on something is a REALLY CHEAP excuse when half of the Russian arsenal implemented is either classified, prototype, or a scribble on a napkin. The stuff you have a lot of data on you refuse to modify or implement properly, and instead make up stuff to nerf it.
