Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

Once again, They imported a lot too, Which is massively under represented.

And to repeat myself for probably the 7th time here, Many copies and imports where never even used by the trees that got them, Only getting a copy on the loosest grounds like looking at one once or not even owning it ever at all.

Any time i see a suggestion to give them a copy-paste of someone else’s thing, It leads to massive outcry with hypocritical whining about how it would ruin the other trees and how they “don’t need it”.

The few plane suggestions that exist have mains from the nation of origin whining that they should get more copy-pastes in return for having to share something for a change.

And last time i checked only 1 ground vehicle suggestion (Pantsir) has any significant support, And that’s only because at the time that suggestion was made, Russian mains where keen on rubbing it in everyone faces that no other nation bothered to make an all-in-one equivalent to justify how hard their CAS+AA combo was stomping everyone else at top tier, So all of those yes votes are really just spite votes.

That was in the game before the British ground tree even existed.
The Brits have a French DB-7 while the French tree still doesn’t have it.
The German KV-1B is also still absent from the Finnish sub tree for Sweden.

The US also lost the M8 LAC to an event, While its a free tech tree vehicle for China, Despite it being the single most used and produce armored car the US has ever made.
That is a significantly worse issue, Than the M3 Lee situation.

Oh, And remember, The devs actually gave a reason for why Sweden doesn’t have the KV-1B, Its because they don’t want people who earned the KV-1B for Germany to feel like their reward has less value for being copied, Funny how they didn’t consider that for the M8.

There we go with the Brits claiming everything only exists because of them argument.
“It wouldn’t exist without us”

But also at the same time crying about the Skink lmao.

Im sorry, But who designed it again? Who’s factories made it? Who’s labor?
Development for the M3 started because the US realized they where woefully behind in tank development and numbers, More may have been built to fill orders, But the tank was going to exist and be used regardless.

So can the South Korean part of the Korean tech tree Gaijin said they where working on get added to the US tree then?
After all, The country wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for them intervening, Neither world the majority of the vehicles they use too as nearly all of them are US technology based.

Im all for the Skink going away if it shuts the tea addicts up (It won’t).
Just don’t go crying when the American tree starts getting the stuff it ordered, Co-developed or tested.

Can you back down and make F-20A a tech tree plane, that goes after F-5?

That plane should have at least squadron vehicle not premium.

Please

The Pantsir isn’t and import it’s a captured vechicle

Your point?

Captured US ground vehicles are in other trees too.

some ww2 planes, the same way USA also has ww2 captured planes

captured are not the same as imported ones, Pantsir is a bad example stuff like the G.91 are better example but they weren’t imported either, they were tested

Is there any of the sort barring the AHS (which I could understand due to Swedish Heli problems)? I’m trying to think of an example but can’t.

This also is present when looking at a good chunk of Kingtiezs captured vehicle suggestions and isn’t exclusive to the USA.

USA also has A6M2, Ki-61-IB, Ki-43-II, Bf 109 F-4 and Fw 190 A-8

Edit: Doesn’t particularly matter if the fringe make said statements if the public are mostly fine or supportive.

Thank you, missed those when looking for captured aircraft.

I own them so wasn’t hard to find

Taiwan M36.
They didn’t have the base model, They had B2’s.

The Swede Sherman is a fictional configuration they didn’t have.

Japan didn’t have the F-16AJ.

Not a vehicle specifically but:
The export AH-64E’s getting the JAGM-MR when there where no orders for importing them when it was added.
In fact it was still being tested at the time, So that made it even more questionable to add.

It could also be the NVA captured based model but wrongly flagged. If it is ment to be the M36B2 then that would be the case of a wrong model and not grasping at the straws (China also had a incorrect version of the T-26 they didn’t have for a while)

That’s also a model error, not anything new to Sweden with the Strv 74 using a mishmash of late and early parts for it’s model iirc. If changed to the correct hull then it would be fine since Sweden did buy and test the Sherman’s

I’ll give you that one since I think the Thai tree subtree arriving sooner could’ve possibly negated the need for the AJ.

If AHS and F-16AJ are the sole 2 examples that seem to have no alternative (especially since the later was one of very few available options) then that’s in my opinion hardly accessing USA vehicles on the loosest grounds.

Read what i said more carefully there.

Several of those suggestions have Brit mains saying “If they get this then we should get X too”.

Doesn’t change the fact it’s a fringe few compared to most (including UK mains) who are supportive or don’t really care about it.

If I woke up tomorrow and decided that the Mirage IIIS C.70 in the Swiss subtree shouldn’t go to Germany and proclaimed it really loudly, would that majorly tilt general public opinion on it’s inclusion to the German tree or would it be a drop in the ocean.

And im sure there are posts all over with every nation that say the same thing, its always going to happen

Would you also have a similar melt down over the Mustangs? It was made for Britain, shaped by British requirements and later accepted a British engine to replace the inadequate Packard. It was only later the US actually took an interest and pushed it into service.

Regarding the US claiming co-developed stuff, US mains have been trying to claim the Skink and all Ram variants (hur dur, it its M3 chassis so we must have it!). Same goes with the Grizzly (Skink hull), it was an M4A1 made in Canada and modified for British/Commonwealth requirements and used only by British and Commonwealth forces.

And for your M3 Lee cope, a big reason why it existed was the British requirement for over 3,500 medium tanks. For the US it was a quick attempt to put a 75 in a Medium tank becasue they physically did not have a adequate turret to house one.

Mustang always shuts down this sort of argument straight away…

US Mains - It’s a US PLANE! It says so on The History Channel and it was the GReAteSt MuRiCAN Fighter in the WoRlD!

Meanwhile everyone else - “Another one of those vehicles which would not exist in any way shape or form without the British/Commonwealth specifications, requirements and engine.”

Funny how selective some people’s memories get when the actual lineage of certain vehicles is pointed out to them. I blame the education system personally. Plus not reading books.

To be fair it was designed specifically for Japan. The problem is that it never left the brochure it was drawn on, and even if it did the aircraft we see in game isn’t accurate to the real design. So it’s more of a paper/fictional vehicle issue than the aircraft being misplaced.

But yeah, this is an insanely weird one. It could easily be replaced by a Thai F-16 variant that’s more accurate, more unique and even does better in the ground attack role this was introduced for, yet it’s somehow still here.

Gaijin’s prior inconsistencies should probably not be used as a precedent. In their defence they would probably not add the F-16AJ now - not at least with the sub-tree options available to Japan and co.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be added now. But even when it was it was a weird choice from a player perspective since subtrees had already been a thing for multiple years and the Thai subtree specifically which is the one that gives the easiest replacement was being expected at any moment.

But it seems that while it was already what people expected, at that point Gaijin hadn’t considered it yet.

Id say its p39/p63, those served well in USSR
