Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

Boeing had an NGAD vehicle flying since 2019, which is why they got both the F47 and F/A-XX. A preproduction F47 is slated to fly in 2028 but it’s going to be based on that NGAD test vehicle.

What part of the Tempert program has flown?

Poland mentioned 💪💪💪

Uh-uh. Nice try. You said F-47 had first flown in 2019.

That’s like saying that the first Typhoon flew in the 1980s (in the form of EAP). Totally different airframes, radically different capabilities.

If you don’t know or understand that difference then I think you should probably stop digging yourself a hole…

I feel like we are very much off topic.

I think it’s best we return to the topic of duplicate vehicles.

Likewise.

I just had someone claim a kick up of the Tempest means it left the drawing board. I think claimed the NGAD as an F47 prototype is more than fair.

We’re way off topic and this will be nuked anyways, so let’s just acknowledge we won’t agree and move on.

I mean, it still isn’t left on the drawing board and is close to completion, its due to fly late next year earliest.

THESE PICTURES ARE A FEW YEARS OLD before you start sprouting utter bullshit

United Defense was the one who designed and built those, BAE’s only involvement was that they bought the company later after those vehicles had already been in service for decades and kept the factories going.
In fact the M109 was already discontinued from British service when the buyout happened.
And they are still built in the United States.
And currently the A7 model of the M109 is only used by the US, Taiwan ordered some but last i checked they don’t have them yet.

Yeah M109 was put out of British service because a better SPH was developed, called the AS90 which fit British requirements better.

I haven’t been following recent Canadian procurement’s, although I really should get back into it. I guess this is largely due to the statements the orange guy recently made.

Okay, back to the topic of duplicated vehicles.

You guys are free to have British-built, American-used vehicles such as Spitfire and Mosquito, or even fireflies.
If you blokes don’t gatekeep things such as Mustangs, Buffalo, and more Shermans from us.

Because you guys used those.
And there are precedents such as B-57 and AV-8, Spitfire LF Mk.IX(US)

You get what we built, and you used.
We get what you built, and we used.

But no, not for Skink because Skink are not designed, purchased, leased, or used by US Forces
Just like M-51, Magach.

Buffalo Mk.1 and Airacobra(P-400) wouldn’t hurt much, I guess.
RAF Buffalo were inferior to the USN one due to additional armour plates
And P-400 was built to order but seized by the USAAF due to the war, IIRC.

It didn’t. Apparently the guy’s problem is just rampant nationalism.

Will never understand treating WT tech trees like football teams, but treating them like proxies for own national pride? Good golly

Well said my friend

Yeah, so weird.

For example, I like having a few Dutch vehicles in game (especially Fokker G.I) because I’m Dutch. But I’m not making it my entire personality XD. And I still mostly play other nations

The US copy-paste is pretty bad.

8 unique Rank I TT vehicles, and 3 unique Rank II TT vehicles.

4 unique Rank III TT vehicles.

9 unique Rank IV TT vehicles.

5 unique Rank V TT vehicles.

You can keep going as well, and I could be missing some.

It could also be worse. Japan for example could have the M15 CGMC, the French and British could have the M3 GMC, the Chinese and British could have the M2A4, etc.

What a catastrophe, the biggest export country with the biggest industry exported things?

Not for lack of unique options to be fair. There is a ton of vehicles to add to the US that never entered the export market.

Unfortunately we don’t see these much from a mix of them often being more niche vehicles compared to the service options they tend to prefer, on top of Gaijin saving money with everything they get to reuse.

Still, most countries can’t make any combination of these vehicles like the US tech tree can. with most having only 2/3 vehicles for every us tier except for isreal.

At Rank II, the M5A1 is only present in the US and Chinese tech trees, and you can’t pair it with the M3 Lee or any other US vehicle without going up to 3.3.

The M3 Lee is only present as a premium or event vehicle in other tech trees eventhough britain was a heavy user, and the US has a version it shouldn’t have in the Grant, as it was only operated by the British. Britain was also a large part of why the M3 existed in the first place, as they requested a stopgap tank from the US. The US also wanted a stopgap tank, but wouldn’t have made them in any large numbers, as they would rather have waited for the M4 to be finished.

Then there’s the Sherman. This tank was literally made in the tens of thousands, and it was meant to be operated by other countries from the get-go. Britain even got the second build m4, nicknamed Michael. If you really dont want other countries to have the Sherman, then the US shouldn’t have supplied it to literally every Allied nation. It even formed the backbone of many nations’ armoured forces, including Britain, Canada and, later in the war, France.

And then there’s the M47. It wasn’t even a tank the Americans really wanted, as it was only meant to be a stopgap. The US Army used it only for a very short time, while it went on to have much longer service careers in other countries.
