Hi and welcome to my 28th suggestion, which is about the new Thai Sea Tiger AAPC, hope you like it.

First of all:

  • This is a suggestion for a Vehicle we could see in game at some point in the Future , that doesn´t mean next Patch or somewhere in the near Future
  • Feel free to share more Information and / or correct me if something is wrong
  • Discuss respectfully, any aggressive kind or verbal abuse will be reported, the Forum rules also apply here
  • I couldn’t find a lot about its history and technical details, so sorry for the spare texts

Basic Background

Two 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles, the DTI AAPC Sea Tiger and the Panus R600, were delivered to the Royal Thai Navy for consideration in their project to acquire seven armored personnel carriers for the Thai Marine Corps. The Sea Tiger received certification in September 2021 and was delivered in May 2023 during a live exercise. The Panus R600, already delivered in May 2023, won a contract worth 99,900,000 baht for 8x8 wheeled vehicles. The Royal Thai Navy aims to procure a total of seven vehicles, with both the Sea Tiger and R600 competing for selection. The project’s value is approximately 448 million baht.
The AAPCs development underlines Thailand’s push for self-reliance in defense technology and its commitment to modernizing its armed forces. This vehicle could potentially replace the aging US-made AAV-7A1s and significantly boost the RTMCs capabilities.

The Sea Tiger AAPC Overall

The Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier (AAPC) is designed for sea operations, equipped with fording kits and rear-mounted propellers allowing speeds of up to 15 km/h in water.
The AAPC’s advanced modular armor system aligns with NATO standard Level 2b, and equipped with a RCWS turret featuring a 30mm and a 7.62mm machine gun.
The crew consists of 3 people (driver, gunner, commander), and there is space for up to 11 soldiers in the rear part.
In contrast, the Sea Tiger, weighing 25 tons; it runs on a Caterpillar C9 engine and Allison 4500 6-speed automatic transmission, achieving a maximum road speed of 110 km/h and up to 15km/h in water, while being able to manage up to Sea State 3. Its agility allows it to navigate obstacles, side slopes, and inclines effectively.
Another turret with a .50 cal RCWS was tested a few years earlier, but was rejected in favor of the 30mm.

Thanks for your time, hope you liked it :salute:
