Not only you need to grind through tanks, you need to grind through helicopters and planes as well, making it by far the most expensive grind in the entire game.
I literally skipped through two whole branches, as I don’t need Yaks nor Su-s for ARB, saving me millions of RP/SL in the process.
They would as they would be the first researchable drones in the game.
Not only you’ll add yet another aerial annoyance in GRB, you’ll prolong the grind for people, which is a loss-loss situation.
Prolonging the grind is more of a self control issue. If you don’t want to research the theoretical researchable drones, you dont have to - same way you skipped the yak line. Drones would just be another option line added to the heli tree.
As far as being another air annoyance in GRB, sure. But we already have the heli’s which provide the identical annoyance so we already have that annoyance in the game.
Researchable drones is just adding more choice for players which as you can tell from Gaijin’s endless new vehicles is already the precedent.
If you want less options, there’s a lot of other games out there to play.
Honestly im not hell bent on researchable drones. I probably wouldn’t bother with them - maybe i would in the heli pve mode but i think drones are worse than helis in ground so id rather just grind the helis.
Kamikaze drones would have one-kill potential due to their nature and would be a perfect tool for revenge. They’re small, fast and will deliver a HE shell on your roof.
Theyre not as small as youd think and they’re not fast. As far as revenge kills, i mean what are the current drones then? Or CAS in general? Or respawning even? All introduce the potential for revenge kills - which by the way is half the point of having multiple spawns.
If the kamikaze drones spawns far enough away from the battlefield it will take time to get to the tanks. Revenge is going to be alot tougher then and getting one kill for 5 mins worth of work is a much more tame CAS kill ratio than the current drones.
Again it all depends on how it’s added. It has the potential to be balanced, underpowered, or super broken. Id prefer it be underpowered tbh especially if we’re giving it to all players.
How much does the current drone cost in SP? 750? What does a heli cost with 2 hellfires to spawn in? Usually around 1000 SP. So yea making drones actual tree vehicles will likely increase their SP cost and will help mitigate some of the cancer.
The whole point of drones is to provide CAS options to ground players without making them buy/research air vehicles. They aren’t even that strong- being very slow, easy to destroy, and only having two hellfire missiles.
They are also more expensive to spawn in than the Eurofighter with 6 JDAMS and a full load of missiles. The CAS issue is not coming from drones.
Definitely smaller and more nimble than current Strike drones.
Yes, adding even more revenge tools is good for the game, what a great logic.
It’s still yet another thing you have to watch out. People playing tanks have more than enough things to worry about anyways.
Gaijin spending time and money onto something that will be underpowered and frankly not needed would be really dumb from their side.
Helicopters with two A2G missiles surely don’t cost 1k SP.
Strike drones were an unneeded and unwanted addition that served a purpose of giving an aircraft to people that don’t have Air tree researched.
Yes but planes were already here, kamikaze drones would be a whole new addition where you’d need to figure out how strong their weapons should be, where they will spawn and for how much SP…
All that for something many people don’t even care about.
It’s literally already in game. The weapons these things use are in game. The flight models are in game. Its just a matter of research cost and modifications.
Cmon man ur just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.
I get the criticisms people have over this idea and i think alot of them are very legit but you’re grasping at straws with these latest ones.
You’re arguing just to argue. You’re literally not saying anything that you haven’t already said. Everything you just said we already went back and forth on.
