I think one of the top changes recently is the downtiering of dreadnought and other similar WW1 battleships to 6.0. This is the BR that sees cruisers!! Outrageous, you say?
After all, seeing the red tag with a “Battleship” on it is really terrifying.
But what if I told you, these are no more potential against destroyers than cruisers? Cruisers have an advantage in that their ROF are much higher, and thus the damage they can deal. The battleships have slow guns and relatively weak secondary batteries.
These ships, present as the premium battleships, such as Nassau and Courbet, suffer significantly from gun performance.
Generally there’s two ways to wipe out a decently armored opponent, death by thousand cuts (US cruisers) or death by brute force (Japanese 406mm). The battleships deliver none of this.
Their main advantage is being a bullet sponge (the ones with good ammo rack placement), no more, no less.
After all, I can yap all day about that, but the leaderboard data speaks way harder than I could ever imagine to; these battleships struggle in uptier against more modern types, and in downtier tend to perform…average in placement.
