Seeing as the K/D and K/S of the IPM1 have only increased over the last couple months it’s decrease in winrate is almost definitely because of the BMPT.

For being in a major nation it’s spawned less often then contemporaries. It’s one of the less spawned Abrams in general. It averages a higher Kill per spawn than Russia due to it most likely being played as a backup to the M1A1 and other lineups rather than a first spawn. Is it undertiered? I don’t think so, it seems to perform decently at its BR. It’s more likely to be played by slightly above average players due to its position in the tech tree.
bro just acting like T-80UD doesnt exist and the recent Arena being 11.0 and the B3 downtiered to 11.3.

why instead of comparing the penetration values, dont you compare the penetration capability? 3BM60 have much more pen capability than the M829A1 due to how weak gaijin keep non russian tanks armour. If we think about that, 3BM60 is way superior because even with M829A2 you still have to aim to the same weakspots in russian tanks and it wont change where you aim in nato tanks if you compare A2 with A1
The UD went up to 10.7 where it belongs, and neither of those T-72s are going to be OP.

The T-80UD was already moved to its correct BR of 10.7.
The IPM1 is vastly more mobile, has thermals, fires a significantly superior round, and has excellent traverse rates.
And you’re once again defending Russian equipment… by claiming less pen is superior this time.

T-80UD isn’t under-tiered.
T-72B3 Arena isn’t undertiered.
T-72B3 used to be overtiered, and it now at it’s appropriate BR.
Meanwhile, the majority of M1’s are undertiered:
IPM1 > 11.7
M1A1 > 12.0
M1A2, M1A1HC, M1A1Click-Bait, M1A1 AIM > 12.3

Okay. M829A1 DOES pen the T-90A upfront, 3BM60 does not. Period.
And if you want to go that
way, ill say then the M829A1 has MUCH MORE capability as the tanks that wield it either stay super low (120S that pens each and every enemy in any spot) or have such a great mobility you always will have first clear shot, and most of them will be to the side of the enemy.
M900 can rng pen the IPM1’s turret at 500m. M900 struggles to pen the Arena’s turret, which sits at 11.0. The Arena has 3BM60, which has ~60mm more in penetration at point blank. The IPM1 has an average armor profile and round for its current BR.

When balancing a vehicle you must look at what it could face at the BR you want it to be at, and a full downtier/uptier. If it goes to 11.7, it faces 12.7, where it will inevitably struggle.
And the IPM1 already compares favorably to the other 11.3 MBTs and even a bunch of 11.7s. Comparing it to 11.0 will be so one sided in favor of the IPM1 it’s not even funny.
Its fine where its at just because 105mm gun produces way worse spalling than 120mm one
Comparing it to 11.0 is perfectly viable? Russia and Israel have the largest 11.3 lineups, Germany doesn’t even have one. If you are playing at 11.3, you aren’t going to have strictly 11.3 vehicles, you’re going to have at least a couple vehicles .3-.7 BR lower depending on the circumstances. If it can see it normally in the given BR range, then it should face comparison.
And looking at a tank with it’s absolute best performance in a vacuum is not how you balance things. The average player isn’t going to have an aced crew, and likely doesn’t have the vehicle spaded. They also aren’t as good at the game.
It’s such a one sided comparison in favor of the IPM1 that there really is no need to even compare the IPM1 to 11.0 vehicles.
In the hands of an average player with a simple expert crew the IPM1 is still far far better than any of the 11.0 MBTs.
To put it bluntly, that is a them problem. If you want to compare vehicles and capabilities you always use a spaded vehicle, because otherwise the comparison turns into a coping cluster****, where one side will just keep going “but what if players don’t have X module(s)” just to get their vehicles moved down to a too low BR.
