OPLOT; inaccuracies, discussion, reports

The Sosna-U sight provides a vertical aiming speed of 5 degrees, which limits vertical aiming.

No one tank in game use sight aiming speed)

If we use it, needs to nerf all MBTs on game. You want it?

The problem is that Gaijin uses tank characteristics however they want. I don’t mind the T-72B3 having 40 degrees. But then give the Oplot at least 10 or 14 degrees, since the vertical drive can do it. Or make it realistic for everyone based on the sighting speed.

That source?

This was mentioned earlier in the thread. The bug report manager responded that on the KMBD website, the maximum weapon aiming speed is 1 degree, although it says “accurate, not maximum.” At the same time, the sight is specified as at least 3 degrees. That would be even better than it is now on the dev server. The absurdity lies in the fact that they themselves don’t know what to choose.

What’s the composite armor array like in real life? Is the dev server’s armor array correct (50mm steel, 30mm textolite, 35mm steel) or is it 50mm steel, 5mm air, 35mm textolite, 50mm steel?

You can report 1 degree

I did it, which they successfully ignored. I cant make more replies, so answer here. Yes, I closed it because the person wanted to make a normal bug report. They ignored mine. But they looked at the next one about Oplot and closed it.

So whats your point?

“ignored”

It’s just funny that for years no one cared about why the T-80U, for example, has 4.4 degrees of vertical guidance, while the T-90A has 3.5 degrees, and the Leopard 2 has 40 degrees.

“They’re probably just behind the times,” everyone thought.

However, right now, this injustice has become acute, incredibly important, and accompanied by the words “it’s impossible to play like this.”

I’ve heard many times that slow aiming is not a problem at all and is a feature of these tanks. Accordingly, you should also accept it.

Otherwise, this issue is extremely difficult to resolve. Using stabilization speed as aiming speed in the game is foolish. For tanks, it can reach 50-70 degrees.

Using vertical slew rate is probably the best solution, but it is not widely known, and it is sometimes difficult to understand what the manufacturer means.

Aiming speed is nonsense in general. Do you really want to nerf all MBTs to 4-5 degrees per second? Or do you naively think that only Sosna-U has such limitations?

We don’t think so

If this wasn’t a problem, we wouldn’t be talking about it now.

@SPANISH_AVENGER you should rename this thread into something like “BM Oplot-T: Inaccuracies, Info gathering and Discussion” type crap because I do not think we are talking about spall liners anymore (it is now “Does OPLOT have vertical drives?”)

I was thinking of that just a few hours ago!

Was debating whether to make a new thread for that, or edit this one.

Probably the latter. You know, we haven’t seen ERA and base armor be properly modeled, so I believe there will be more than enough ranting on this subject as well

It does have a vertical drive but it’s very old.
So far the tank is quite accurate on the dev server besides armor values.

People still (and probably will) try to proove things different, so there is space for anything at this point

Isn’t it basically upgraded of the good old Soviet T-80U which has the same problem? Very sure they had the exact same gun aswell.

No

The problem is that Gaijin didn’t give it a good vertical aiming speed, although they could have done it.

Although Stingray was given

How much do you think it’s supposed to have?
